Notice calling up Reservist for Service with the Territorial Force.
National Service Department,
Wellington, 20th May, 1941.
IT is hereby notified for general information that, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by Regulation 44 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, I have this day issued to—
John Sampson, Motor Engineer, 145 Colombo Street, Christchurch, Registration No. 439311,
a notice calling him up for service with the Territorial Force as being a reservist of Class B1 of the First Division of the General Reserve, such person having been convicted for that, being a reservist belonging to a class of the Reserve the enrolment of which has been proclaimed, did fail to make application in writing for enrolment in that class of the Reserve as required by Regulation 43 (1) of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.

Notice calling up Reservists for Service Overseas with the Armed Forces.

Wellington, 20th May, 1941.
IT is hereby notified for general information that, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by Regulation 44 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, I have this day issued to—
Eric Robert Fennis, Labourer, care of Mr. David Kernohan, Contractor, Waldegrave’s Road, Longburn, Registration No. 439562,
Robert Clement Hempseed, Fruitpicker, 501 St. Aubyn Street, Hastings, Registration No. 439591,
Albert McNeill, Ploughman, care of Mr. A. J. Blakely, Waikari, North Canterbury, Registration No. 289806, and
Thomas James O’Donnell, Farm Labourer, Kelso, Registration No. 439288,
notices calling them up for service overseas with the Armed Forces as being reservists of Class A of the First Division of the General Reserve, such persons having been severally convicted for that, being reservists belonging to a class of the Reserve the enrolment of which has been proclaimed, they did fail to make application in writing for enrolment in that class of the Reserve as required by Regulation 43 (1) of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.

Manufacture for Sale of Soap and Soap-powder.
AN application has been received from H. G. and K. V. McCallum, trading as McCallum’s Soap Works, Maria Road, Ellerslie, Auckland, for an extension of their existing license covering the manufacture of unmilled bar and bulk soap so as to permit the manufacture of unmilled tablet soap and soap-powder.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 5th June, 1941.

Taking of Fish for Sale.
AN application has been received from Frank Domandie, Warkworth, to take fish for sale by means of a dinghy, using set-nets, drag-nets, long-lines, hand-lines, and crayfish pots, catches to be landed at Warkworth.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 5th June, 1941.

AN application has been received from C. G. Pawley, 21 Beach Street, Island Bay, Wellington, for an extension of his existing license covering the taking of fish for sale by means of the fishing-vessel “Te Rantau,” WX. 203, using long-lines and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Island Bay, so as to permit the use of trawl-nets.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 5th June, 1941.

AN application has been received from W. Connor, Opoutere, via Waihi, for an amendment to his existing license covering the taking of fish for sale by means of a small dinghy, using drag-nets and hand-lines, so as to use the 28 ft. launch “Zealandia,” 27.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 5th June, 1941.

Fish Canning.
AN application has been received from George Hamilton Metcalfe, of Messrs. Inder and Metcalfe, Barristers and Solicitors, Auckland, as trustee for a proposed company to be known as “John Kaaland, Ltd.,” for a fish-canner’s license in respect of a factory and plant proposed to be established in the Bay of Islands or some other locality in the Auckland Provincial District, the proposal involving the canning of kahawai, trevally, and generally all edible fish.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 5th June, 1941.
