BOUNDARIES OF THE AWAHOU RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF MANAWATU.
All that area in Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section 315, Township of Carnarvon, Block XIV, Te Kawau Survey District; thence to and along the northern side of the Foxton-Palmerston North Railway-line to the Oroua River; thence to and along the middle of the Oroua River to its confluence with the Manawatu River; thence down the middle of the Manawatu River to the sea; thence north-westerly along the sea-coast to a point in line with the production of the south boundary of Section 329, Township of Carnarvon; thence to and along that boundary and the southern boundary of Section 332 to the south-eastern corner thereof; thence northerly along the western side of the Foxton-Sanson Road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 315 aforesaid; thence to and along that boundary to the south-eastern corner of said Section 315, the point of commencement, excluding therefrom the Borough of Foxton.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Roads of less Width than 66 ft.
WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Avon Lea Extension No. 1, affecting part of section 186, Hutt Registration District, Block VIII, Belmont Survey District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that the proposed roads shown thereon should be of the width of 66 ft.:
Now, therefore, I, Frank Langstone, Minister of Lands, do hereby, in pursuance of the power conferred upon me by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power me thereunto enabling, authorize the laying-off of the proposed road of a width of not less than 40 ft.: Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such road.

Notice as to Area in Nelson Land District declared to be a Fire District.
PURSUANT to section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921-22, I hereby notify that on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry and the Land Board of the district the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared by me to be a fire district, and I do further specify the period from the 1st day of November in any year to the 30th day of April in the following year, inclusive, as the period during which it shall not be lawful for any person within the said district, save pursuant to the written permit of a Forest Officer to set on fire or cause to be set on fire, any timber (whether standing or not), or any undergrowth, or any debris from forest operations or land-clearing operations, or any grass or other specially inflammable material without taking such precautions as may be prescribed by a Forest Officer.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—NELSON FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.—COBB RIVER FIRE DISTRICT.
All that area in the Nelson Land District, Takaka County, containing approximately 44,000 acres, situated in Blocks XIV, XV, XVI, XVIII, XIX, and XX, Waingaro Survey District, Blocks XIII, XIV, and XVII, Takaka Survey District, Blocks II, III, IV, VII, VIII, and XII, Harapaki Survey District, and Blocks I and V, Flora Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing at Mount Cobb, the point of junction of the boundaries of Buller, Collingwood, and Takaka Counties; thence in a north-easterly direction along Collingwood County boundary for a distance of approximately 250 chains; thence in south-westerly and south-easterly directions along the summit of the Loekett Range to Mt. Loekett; thence in a north-easterly direction along the summit of a range forming the watershed between the Cobb River and the left hand branch of the Waingaro River and along a right line bearing approximately 65° for a distance of approximately 50 chains to the north-western corner of Section 4, Block XIV, Takaka Survey District; thence along the northern boundary of Section 4 aforesaid, to Sam’s Creek; thence in a northerly direction along Sam’s Creek to the south-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block X, Takaka Survey District; thence in a north-easterly direction along that boundary to Rhennatic Creek; thence in a south-easterly direction along that creek to the left bank of the Takaka River; thence in a south-westerly direction along the left bank of the Takaka River to its source and by a right line bearing approximately 210° for a distance of approximately 15 chains to a point on the Buller County boundary approximately 55 chains south-east of Trig. D, Block XII, Harakapt Survey District; thence in a north-westerly direction along that boundary to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 102/5, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Notice of Intention to take Land in the Town of Dobson, Borough of Brunner, for the Purposes of a Police-station.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a police-station— and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Brumerton and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
