Changes in the Organization of Units of the Territorial Force.

Army Department,
Wellington, 2nd May, 1941.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve, under section 6 (a), Defence Act, 1909, of the following changes in the organization of units of the Territorial Force. Dated 23rd April, 1941 :—

N.Z. ARTILLERY.

(1) The existing organization of the 2nd Field Regiment is abolished, and the regiment is reorganized as follows :—

2nd Field Regiment, with headquarters at Wellington, comprising—

3rd Battery (Wellington)—
“ A ” Troop (Wellington).
“ B ” Troop (Wellington).
“ C ” Troop (Wellington).

4th Battery (Wellington)—
“ D ” Troop (Wellington).
“ E ” Troop (Wellington).
“ F ” Troop (Wellington).

(2) The headquarters of the 8th Medium Battery (Army Reserve), 8th Medium Regiment, are transferred from Wellington to Palmerston North, and the battery will consist of—

“ C ” Troop (Palmerston North).
“ D ” Troop (Palmerston North).
“ E ” Troop (Palmerston North).

(3) The following changes are made in the 12th Field Regiment, (Army Reserve) :—

(i) The headquarters of the regiment are transferred from Wellington to Napier.

(ii) The 37th Battery, which previously had detachments at Wellington and Napier, will consist of “ A,” “ B,” and “ C ” Troops, each with headquarters at Napier.

(4) With reference to the notice published in New Zealand Gazette No. 127, dated 19th December, 1940, the following alterations will be made in the Army Reserve :—

(a) Delete “ Headquarters, Army Reserve, Wellington.”

(b) Delete “ Headquarters, 4th New Zealand Mounted Rifles Brigade (Motorized), Palmerston North.”
