NOTICE is hereby given that the leases of the undermentioned lands having been declared forfeit by resolution of the
Canterbury Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924,

Town Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection on
Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 1st April, 1941.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section
is open for selection on renewable lease under the
Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to
4 o’clock p.m., on Friday, 9th May, 1941.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on
Tuesday, 13th May, 1941, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any
applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any
other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of
the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant
is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a
deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period
rent, weighting for improvements, and lease fee.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.
Borough of Akaroa.
PART Town Section 86: Area, 15 perches. Capital value,
£140. Half-yearly rent, £3 10s.
Weighted with £40 (payable in cash) for improvements,
comprising concrete foundations, sewer connections, old
iron fencing and shed.
This section, which has a frontage to Lavaud Street and
Cross Street, Akaroa, lies handy to the post-office and school,
and is eminently suitable for a shop-site and dwellinghouse,
or for the erection of flats. The concrete work is all fairly
sound and may be fit to use as foundations for new buildings.
The section has sewer connection, and electric light and
high-pressure water are available.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned
section will be offered for sale for cash by public
auction at the Lands and Survey Office, Hamilton, on
Friday, 2nd May, 1941, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., under the
Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Waipa County.—Puniu Parish.
ALLOTMENT 378 (formerly part Allotment 223): Area,
7 acres 0 roods 36 perches. Upset price, £90.
The section, which was formerly part of the Te Awamutu
Domain and known locally as Te Rahu Reserve, has a
frontage to Muir’s Road, three miles from Te Awamutu
Post-office. Level to undulating land, in gorse and black-
berry. There is a row of oak trees along road boundary and
pines on side boundary.

STATE FOREST SERVICE NOTICE.
Milling-timber for Sale by Public Tender.
State Forest Service,
Palmerston North, 1st April, 1941.
NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the sale
of the undermentioned milling-timber will close at
the office of the State Forest Service, Palmerston North, at
3 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, 16th April, 1941.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.—WELLINGTON
LAND DISTRICT.
ALL the milling-timber, except totara, on that piece of land
containing approximately 170 acres, being Lot 8B, State
Forest 42, situated in Block I, Tongariro Survey District,
the same being particularly delineated on plan 62/176,
deposited in the office of the State Forest Service, Palmerston
North, and thereon edged red. The estimated quantity of
milling-timber in cubic feet is 253,100, or in board feet
1,751,000, made up as follows :—

date of the sale and the others at monthly intervals thereafter.
