Appointment.
Warrant Officer Walter Starforth Maxey is granted a temporary commission in the rank of Flying Officer. Dated 1st January, 1941.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND SPECIAL DUTIES BRANCH.
Transfer.
Flying Officer (Honorary Flight Lieutenant) Frederick Stanley Gordon, D.F.C., is posted to the Reserve of Officers, Section I, Class B. Dated 24th March, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that His Excellency the Governor- General has, pursuant to section 49 of the Land Act, 1924, been pleased to reappoint Lewis Stanley Jellyman, and Francis Smith to be members of the Land Board of the Land District of Marlborough for further terms of two years from the 6th day of March, 1941, and 20th day of March, 1941, respectively.

Stanley John Williams to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Nuhaka, on and from the 5th day of March, 1941. Bernard Stanley Mills to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Manutahi, on and from the 1st day of March, 1941. Thomas Leslie Earnshaw to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Awhitu, on and from the 18th day of March, 1941, and Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Waiuku, on and from the 18th day of March, 1941.

The Infants Act, 1908.--Direction for the Transfer of Adoption Records.
PURSUANT to a rule made by His Excellency the Governor-General on the 18th day of October, 1940 (Serial No. 1940/270), I hereby direct that all adoption records (exclusive of registers) in all Courts throughout New Zealand, in respect of which applications were filed at any time prior to the 1st day of January, 1916, shall be transferred for safe custody to the Office of the Registrar-General at Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work--to wit, the construction of road-- and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Opotiki and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
