THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.

Tom Barnard Walker to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st March, 1941.

Leo Benedict Collins to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st March, 1941.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.

2nd Lieutenant (temp.) A. M. Lee is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 12th March, 1941.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.

2nd Lieutenant C. McBeath, M.M., 1st Battalion, is transferred to the National Military Reserve. Dated 8th August, 1940.

THE HAWKE’S BAY REGIMENT.

Lance Marshall Parsons to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion. Dated 14th March, 1941.

THE TARANAKI REGIMENT.

The notice published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 17, dated 27th February, 1941, relative to the appointment of Earnest Albert Kowhai Lee, is hereby cancelled.

THE CANTERBURY REGIMENT.

Lieutenant G. E. M. Keys, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 22nd December, 1934, and is posted to the 4th Cadet Battalion. Dated 5th February, 1941.

THE OTAGO REGIMENT.

Captain (temp. Major) G. Swan, M.C., 1st Battalion, is transferred to the New Zealand Scottish Regiment. Dated 6th March, 1941.

THE NEW ZEALAND SCOTTISH REGIMENT.

Captain (temp. Major) G. Swan, M.C., from the Otago Regiment, to be Captain, with seniority from 1st September, 1933, is appointed to command the 2nd Battalion, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 6th March, 1941.

NATIONAL MILITARY RESERVE.

Lieutenant-Colonel H. C. Hemphill, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant-Colonel, and is posted to the 1st Company (Whangarei). Dated 14th January, 1941.

Lieutenant A. St. C. Macgregor, 20th Company (Bluff), to be Captain. Dated 21st January, 1941.

Captain N. H. Hanna, Retired List, to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 21st February, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant (temp.) W. R. Grace, 15th Company (Nelson), is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 24th February, 1941.

Lieutenant D. D. Dun, Retired List, to be Lieutenant, and is posted to the 20th Company (Bluff). Dated 3rd March, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant C. McBeath, M.M., from the North Auckland Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 8th August, 1940, and is posted to the 1st Company (Whangarei). Dated 8th August, 1940.

2nd Lieutenant C. McBeath, M.M., 1st Company (Whangarei), is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 8th August, 1940.

Gerald Lowther Sadd to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted to the 20th Company (Bluff). Dated 5th December, 1940.

2nd Lieutenant J. H. Phillips, 2nd Battalion, is transferred to the N.Z. Army Service Corps. Dated 8th January, 1941.

N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS.

2nd Lieutenant J. H. Phillips, from the National Military Reserve, to be 2nd Lieutenant, is appointed to command the second Composite Company, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain while so employed. Dated 8th January, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant (temp.) L. J. Harley ceases to be posted to the 5th Composite Company, is posted to the 1st Reserve Mechanical Transport Company, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 1st March, 1941.

Douglas Hutchison Saunders, M.B., Ch.B., F.R.C.S. (Edin.), to be Lieutenant, Central Military District (unattached), and is granted the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 1st March, 1941.

John Arthur Rolland O’Regan, M.B., Ch.B., to be Lieutenant, Central Military District (unattached), and is granted the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 1st March, 1941.

N.Z. ORDNANCE CORPS.

2nd Lieutenant (temp.) J. Beaver, from the N.Z. Army Service Corps, to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted to the 21st Light Aid Detachment. Dated 22nd February, 1941.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, and transfers of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—

STAFF.

Major C. C. Muscroft-Taylor, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of District Artillery Officer, Central Military District, is appointed General Staff Officer, 1st Grade, Central Military District, Wellington, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while so employed. Dated 7th March, 1941.

Lieutenant R. E. Johnston, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Instructor, Southern Military District School of Instruction, Burnham, and is appointed Adjutant, The Otago Mounted Rifles. Dated 25th October, 1940.

Captain and Quartermaster (temp.) J. W. McMurray, N.Z. Permanent Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Chief Instructor, Northern Military District School of Instruction, Narrow Neck, and is appointed General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade, Northern Field Force. Dated 4th March, 1941.
