REDUCING NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF COUNCIL.

THE following resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Te Kuiti Borough Council held on Monday, the 17th day of February, 1941:—

“ In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 148 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby resolves, by way of special order, to reduce the number of members of the said Council from the Mayor and nine Councillors to the Mayor and six Councillors.”

Confirmed at a meeting of the Council held on Monday, the 17th day of March, 1941, and ordered to take effect as from the 22nd day of April, 1941.

APPLICATION FOR A WATER-RACE.

In the Warden’s Court holden at Cromwell.

NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been made to the Warden at Cromwell by the Lake County Council and W. A. Scaife for a water-race for four heads commencing in Alpha Burn in Run 334D, Lower Wanaka District, running 850 yards northerly and easterly and terminating at Glendhu Domain; and by the Lake County Council for a branch race of 135 yards from such water-race running north; and for a water-race for ¼ head commencing in Coromandel Creek in same run running 330 yards north-westerly and terminating at Glendhu Domain.

And such applications will be heard in the Warden’s Court at Cromwell on Wednesday, 23rd April, 1941, at 11 a.m.

Objections must be filed in the Registrar’s Office and notified to applicants at least three days before the time so appointed.

BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and in the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Bay of Islands County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council situate at Kawakawa, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.
