NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned land having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Westland Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Settlement Land in Marlborough Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, 6th May, 1941.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, on Thursday, 8th May, 1941, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately upon conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE.
MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Marlborough County.—Taylor Pass Survey District—Wither Settlement.
SECTION 21, Block IV: Area 10 acres. Capital value, £200. Half-yearly rent, £5.
Loaded with £320 for improvements, comprising dwelling of three rooms and bathroom, washhouse, two large fowl-houses, feed-shed, fencing, and plantation. This sum may be paid in cash or after payment of a cash deposit of £20, the balance, £300, to be repaid over a period of fifteen years by thirty half-yearly instalments of £14 2s., comprising interest (5 per cent.) and principal.
This property, which is situated two miles from Blenheim, is suitable only for a man in permanent employment who could run a few cows and poultry. The land is of a dry, shingly nature with no water supply, although the borough water runs past frontage. Buildings generally are in poor repair.
