Infected Area declared under Citrus Canker Regulations 1940.—(Notice No. Ag. 3820.)

IT is hereby notified for public information that all that area of land being Lot 38, D.P. 21955, being part of O.L.C. 3, Block XI, Kerikeri Survey District, and containing 25 acres 1 rood and 37 perches, has been declared to be an infected area for the purposes of the Citrus Canker Regulations 1940.

Fish Retailing.

AN application has been received from M. Skeotch, M. Frampton, A. Matheson, and J. Matheson, Dunedin, for a license to commence to carry on the retail sale of cooked fish at their premises at 173 Rattray Street, Dunedin.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 10th April, 1941.

Taking of Fish for Sale.

AN application has been received from J. Odey, late of Timaru, for a variation of his existing license covering the taking of fish for sale by means of the fishing-vessel “Thistle,” TU 1, using trawl-nets, long-lines, and hand-lines, catches being landed at Timaru, so as to permit the use of the vessel “Muriel,” TU 119, using trawl-nets and long-lines, catches to be landed at Port Chalmers.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 10th April, 1941.

AN application has been received from Myrl Shoe Co. (N.Z.), Ltd., 153 Albert Street, Auckland, for an extension of its existing license covering the manufacture of slippers by the machine-sewn process so as to permit the manufacture of sandals and house shoes by the cemented process.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 26th March, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 21st April, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 23rd April, 1941, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.


SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Whangarei County.—Mangakahia Survey District.

SECTION 5, Block XI: Area, 296 acres (approx.). Capital value, £500. Deposit on deferred payments, £25. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term, 34½ years), £15 8s. 9d. Renewable lease: half-yearly rent, £10.

Weighted with £865 for improvements, comprising dwelling, cowshed, shed, fencing, and grassing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £90, the balance may be secured to the State Advances Corporation by mortgage on thirty-five-year term (£22 9s. 1d. per half-year) with interest at 4½ per cent. reducible to 4¼ per cent. for prompt payment, selector to covenant to top-dress with at least 10 tons of suitable phosphatic manure annually, to paint exterior of dwelling within twelve months of selection, to renovate and complete interior of dwelling within two years of selection, and to complete boundary fencing within twelve months of selection. Mortgage costs, £4 11s., payable with deposit.

Situated three miles from Parakao Post-office and School and eighteen miles and a half from Kirikopuni Station; metalled access. Mostly ploughable, reasonably well watered, and has makings of a good dairy-farm; should carry thirty cows in present condition.

NOTE.—Area, capital value, and rental subject to alteration on survey.
