Education Reserves in Auckland Land District for Lease by
Public Auction.
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 11th March, 1941.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned educa-
tion reserves will be offered for lease by public auction
at the Lands Office, Hamilton, at 2.30 o’clock p.m. on Thursday,
24th April, 1941, under the provisions of the Education
Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVES.
Borough of Hamilton.—Town of Hamilton East.
Subdivision of Lot 7 of Lot 3 of Allotment 419.
Lot 18: Area, 30-83 perches. Upset annual rental, £2 10s.
Lot 22: Area, 31-70 perches. Upset annual rental, £2.
Lot 23: Area, 32-76 perches. Upset annual rental, £2 10s.
Lot 26: Area, 30-82 perches. Upset annual rental, £2.
Lot 27: Area, 30-82 perches. Upset annual rental, £2.
Lot 28: Area, 30-82 perches. Upset annual rental, £1 10s.
Lot 29: Area, 30-82 perches. Upset annual rental, £1 10s.

These are level building sections facing Wilson and Day
Streets, Hamilton East. Gas, water, and sewerage are avail-
able to the sections. A plan can be seen at Branch Office,
Lands and Survey Department, Hamilton.
Term of lease, twenty-one years with perpetual right of
renewal at revaluation.
Form of lease may be perused and any further information
required may be obtained at the office of the undersigned.

Suburban Land in Wellington Land District for Selection on
Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 12th March, 1941.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section
is open for selection on renewable lease under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up till 4 o’clock
p.m. on Monday, 28th April, 1941.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, on Wed-
nesday, 30th April, 1941, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any
applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any
other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is
required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit
comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent,
lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—SUBURBAN LAND.
Kaitieke County.—Hawea Survey District.
SECTION 50, Block VI: Area, 5 acres 0 roods 33 perches.
Capital value, £20; half-yearly rent, 10s.
Weighted with £7 13s. 9d. (payable in cash) for im-
provements comprising fencing.
The section is situated on the Hapa Road, one mile from
Kakahi. The soil is pumice resting on clay formation. The
section is in a neglected state, being overgrown in heavy
scrub and infested with ragwort and some blackberry. The
section is suitable for working in conjunction with an adjoin-
ing area.

Town Land in Otago Land District for Selection on Renewable
Lease.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section
is open for selection on renewable lease under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o’clock
p.m. on Monday, 12th May, 1941.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday,
14th May, 1941, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant
is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land
Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of
the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant
is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a
deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period
rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.
NOTE.—This section is offered in terms of section 153 of
the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any
mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose
rights shall be to the surface soil only.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.
Maniatoto County.—Town of St. Bathans.—Otago Mining
District.
SECTION 29, Block I: Area, 1 rood 13-3 perches. Capital
value, £10; half-yearly rent, 5s.
Weighted with £125 (to be paid in cash) for improvements
comprising a six-roomed wooden dwelling in good order and
detached washhouse and old shed.
A good level to easy sloping section at the corner of Main
Street and Cross Street, very conveniently situated to the
post-office.

STATE FOREST SERVICE NOTICES.
Milling-timber for Sale by Public Tender.
State Forest Service,
Auckland, 6th March, 1941.
NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the
purchase of the undermentioned milling-timber will
close at the office of the State Forest Service, Auckland, at
4 o’clock p.m., on Monday, 7th April, 1941.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.—AUCKLAND
LAND DISTRICT.
ALL the milling-timber on that piece of land containing
approximately 214 acres, part Provisional State Forest
No. 129, Block XIV, Takahue Survey District, about fifteen
miles from Kaitaia.
The total estimated quantity in cubic feet is 67,600, or in
board feet 458,000, made up as follows:—

Terms of Payment.
A marked cheque for one-sixth of the tendered price,
together with £1 1s. license fee, must accompany the tender,
and the balance be paid by fifteen monthly instalments, due
on the 20th of each month, the first of which shall be paid
two months after the date of sale.
Terms and Conditions.

All instalment-payments shall be secured by “on
demand” promissory notes made and endorsed to the satis-
faction of the Commissioner of State Forests, and interest at
the rate of 1 per cent. per annum in excess of current bank
overdraft rates will be charged on all notes overdue from
the date of maturity to the date of payment. -
The right to cut and remove the timber will be sold in
accordance with the provisions of the Forests Act, 1921–22,
the regulations in force thereunder, and these conditions. -
The aforementioned quality, quantity, and kind as to
the said timber shall be taken as sufficiently accurate for
the purposes of this sale, and no contract for the purchase
shall be voidable, nor shall the successful purchaser be en-
titled to any abatement in price, by reason of the said timber
being of less quantity, quality, or kind as stated herein or in
any advertisement having reference to the said timber.
