THE following special order made by the Ashley County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931.

SPECIAL ORDER.
THE Ashley County Council, pursuant to the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931, doth hereby resolve by way of special order as follows :—
“ That, as from the close of the financial year ending on the 31st day of March, 1941, sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920, shall not apply to the Ashley County Council, and that the balances then standing to the debit or credit of the separate Riding Accounts be transferred to and incorporated in the General Account.”
We hereby certify the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Ashley County Council held in the Council Chambers on the 1st day of August, 1940, and confirmed at a meeting held on the 5th day of September, 1940, and as appearing from the minutes of such meetings ; and we further certify that public notice of such special order was given in the Press newspaper on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th of August, 1940.

Classification of Roads in Bay of Islands County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport does hereby alter the Bay of Islands County Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Bay of Islands County, and does hereby approve such altered classification as set forth in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY.
ROADS classified in Class Four: Available for the use thereon of any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle or any trailer which with the load it is carrying has an axle weight of not more than 3½ tons on any one axle, or of any other heavy motor-vehicle which with the load it is carrying has an axle weight of not more than 4 tons on any one axle.

Classification of Roads in Hutt County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport does hereby alter the Hutt County Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Hutt County, and does hereby approve such altered classification as set forth in the said Schedule.

HUTT COUNTY.
ROADS classified in Class Four: Available for the use thereon of any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle or any trailer which with the load it is carrying has an axle weight of not more than 3½ tons on any one axle, or of any other heavy motor-vehicle which with the load it is carrying has an axle weight of not more than 4 tons on any one axle.

Revoking a Warrant Declaring an Area to be a Closely Populated Locality and Declaring an Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.
IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Minister of Transport does hereby revoke that portion of the Warrant dated the 8th day of June, 1937, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 42 of the 17th day of June, 1937, at page 1482, which refers to part of the area described in the Schedule hereto, and does hereby declare the area described in the said Schedule to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.
SCHEDULE.
SITUATED within Waimairi and Paparua Counties—
All that area of the Christchurch–Timaru Main Highway No. 58 adjacent to the Borough of Riccarton, and bounded to the east by the western boundary of Riccarton Borough as now constituted ; bounded to the north and north-west by the northern and north-western boundary of the said main highway ; bounded to the south and south-east by the southern and south-eastern boundary of the said main highway, and bounded to the west by a right line across the said main highway at a distance of 9 chains measured along the southern boundary of the said main highway in a westerly direction from its intersection at Sockburn with the north-western boundary of the Sockburn–Rakaia Huts Main Highway No. 114 ; the whole area being indicated by the plan marked TT. 1655 and deposited in the office of the Transport Department at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Approval of Safety-glass in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1936, Amendment No. 1.
IN terms of Regulation 10 of the Traffic Regulations 1936, as amended by Regulation 6 of the Traffic Regulations 1936, Amendment No. 1, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve as being of safety type the glass of the kind or make described in the Schedule hereto.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers’ Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of heavy trade-motors, shall not apply to Harold Baird, of Mangapehi.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers’ Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of motor-omnibuses (inclusive of service-cars), shall not apply to Helen Maxwell Robertson, of Kaitangata.
