WAITAKI ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

THE Waitaki Electric-power Board at its meeting on the 15th December, 1941, resolved—

“ That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the loan of £20,000, to be known as Extension Loan, 1941, authorized to be raised by the Waitaki Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act and under the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and the Finance Act (No. 2), 1936, for the purpose of the construction of additional transmission or distribution lines and substations and the augmenting of existing lines and substations in the Waitaki Electric-power District plus portion of Hakataramea Valley, and the purchase and erection of all necessary equipment therefor and generally the exercising of the Board’s rights and powers as may be deemed expedient under the authority of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and amendments, the said Waitaki Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighteenth of a penny in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property of the said district and part of Hakataramea Valley; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan has been fully repaid, and that the said special rate be and the same is hereby appropriated and pledged as security for the interest and sinking fund of principal repayment charges and other charges under the securities to be issued.”

Members’ Voluntary Winding-up.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of CITY CHAMBERS, LIMITED (in Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above company, held at the registered office on Tuesday, 16th December, 1941, the undermentioned resolution was passed as a special resolution:—

“ That, as the leases of the property which the company was formed to acquire have now expired, the company be wound up voluntarily in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Act, 1933, and that HORACE ARTHUR MOORE, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator for the purpose of such winding up.”

Notice of General Meeting of Company.

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of subsections (1) and (2) of section 241 of the Companies Act, 1933, that a general meeting of the said Winefield McPherson, Limited (in liquidation), will be held in the office of the liquidator, Mr. ROBERT JAMES COOK, of Dunedin, Public Accountant, situate at No. 174 Princes Street, Dunedin, on Saturday, the 3rd day of January, 1942, at 9 o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of laying the liquidator’s account, prepared in accordance with subsection (1) of the said section 241, before the meeting and giving an explanation thereof.

“ That the company be and the same is hereby wound up voluntarily, and that GUSTAV JAMES JULIUS FEIL, of Wellington, Public Accountant, be appointed liquidator for the purpose of such winding up.”

INVERCARGILL CITY COUNCIL.

INVERCARGILL CITY COUNCIL WATERWORKS REDEMPTION LOAN, 1942, OF £22,100.

Resolution making Special Rate.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Invercargill City Council, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, hereby resolves as follows:—

“ That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Invercargill City Council Waterworks Redemption Loan, 1942, of £22,100, authorized to be raised by the Invercargill City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying to the extent that sinking funds are insufficient the Waterworks Reticulation Loan, 1913, of £32,000, which matures in London on 1st April, 1942, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal three two of a penny (.32d.) in the pound on the rateable value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the City of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Invercargill City Council held on Tuesday, 16th December, 1941.

WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND IN THE COUNTY OF WHAKATANE FOR A CEMETERY.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Whakatane Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Cemeteries Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work, namely—the acquisition of land for a cemetery—and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the said Whakatane Borough Council situated in Commerce Street, Whakatane, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the taking of the said land who have any well-grounded objections to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the date of the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk, Municipal Chambers, Commerce Street, Whakatane.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of land to be taken: 9 acres 1 rood 30 perches.

Being part Lot 2, D.P. No. 28698, of Allotment 245, Parish of Waimana; coloured blue, S.O. plan 31634.

Situated in County of Whakatane.
