NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned land having being declared forfeit by resolution of the Taranaki Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 16th December, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Friday, 19th January, 1942.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 21st January, 1942, at 11 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and in the case of Section 15, Block VII, Wharepapa Survey District, the amount of weighting for improvements.

SECTIONS 1-2: Area, 2 roods 18 perches. Capital value, £15; half-yearly rent, 7s. 6d.

Sections 4-7: Area, 1 acre 0 roods 3 perches. Capital value, £21; half-yearly rent, 10s. 6d.

These are level sections in Otumu Township, three miles from Arohena, suitable as residential sites.

STATE FOREST SERVICE NOTICES.

Milling-timber for Sale by Public Tender.

State Forest Service,
Palmerston North, 15th December, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the sale of the undermentioned milling-timber will close at the office of the State Forest Service, Palmerston North, at 3 o’clock p.m. on Friday, 16th January, 1942.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON CONSERVANCY.—WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

ALL the milling-timber on that piece of land containing approximately 226 acres in Sections 1 and 2, Block XIV, Waro Survey District, being Lot 7, Provisional State Forest 91, about eight miles from Tahora.

The estimated quantity of timber in cubic feet is 153,800, or in board feet 1,069,000, made up as follows:—

Upset price: £1,950.

Time for removal: Two years.

Terms of Payment.

A marked cheque for one-sixth of tender amount, together with £1 1s. license fee, must accompany the tender, and the balance be paid in eighteen equal monthly instalments, the first of which shall be paid on the 20th of the month following the date of sale and the others at monthly intervals thereafter.

Terms and Conditions.

1. All instalment-payments shall be secured by “on demand” promissory notes made and endorsed to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of State Forests, and interest at the rate of 1 per cent. per annum in excess of current bank overdraft rates will be charged on all notes overdue from the date of maturity to the date of payment.

2. The right to cut and remove the timber will be sold in accordance with the provisions of the Forests Act, 1921-22, the regulations in force thereunder, and these conditions.

3. The aforementioned quality, quantity, and kind as to the said timber shall be taken as sufficiently accurate for the purposes of this sale, and no contract for the purchase
