Timber Control Notice No. 31.

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the Supply Control Emergency Regulations 1939, and the Timber Emergency Regulations 1939, I, Alexander Robert Entrican, Timber Controller, hereby require and direct as follows:—

  1. This notice may be cited as the Timber Control Notice No. 31.

  2. Every person carrying on business as a sawmiller (hereinafter referred to as “the owner”) shall, not later than the 22nd day of December, 1941, deliver to the Timber Controller, Box 1, Government Buildings, Wellington, a statement containing the particulars, set out hereunder, of all wire ropes and saws respectively in his possession or control or on order by him on the 15th day of December, 1941, namely:—

WIRE ROPES.

(a) In the case of wire ropes in use by the owner at that date—

(i) Sizes and lengths ;

(ii) Purposes for which they are used, i.e., hauler main ropes, tail ropes, strawline, tractor, &c. ;

(iii) Estimated life of each rope.

(b) In the case of wire ropes in the possession or control of the owner but not in use at that date—

(i) Sizes and lengths ;

(ii) Purposes for which they are intended to be used, i.e., hauler main ropes, tail ropes, strawline, tractor ropes, various mill ropes, &c. ;

(iii) State whether such wire ropes are new or used, and in the case of used wire ropes give the estimated life ;

(iv) Address where stored or kept.

(c) In the case of such wire ropes as are on order by the owner at that date—

(i) Name and address of supplier ;

(ii) Date when order placed ;

(iii) Sizes and lengths ;

(iv) Purposes for which they are intended to be used, i.e., hauler main ropes, tail ropes, strawline, tractor ropes, various mill ropes, &c.

SAWS.

(d) In the case of saws in use by the owner at that date—

(i) Original sizes including diameters or lengths and widths and also gauges ;

(ii) Purposes for which they are used, i.e., breakdown, breast bench, &c. ;

(iii) Estimated life of each saw.

(e) In the case of saws in the possession or control of the owner but not in use at that date—

(i) Original sizes including diameters or lengths and widths and also gauges ;

(ii) Purposes for which they are intended to be used, i.e., breakdown, breast bench, &c. ;

(iii) State whether such saws are new or used and in the case of used saws give the estimated life ;

(iv) Address where stored or kept.

(f) In the case of such saws as are on order by the owner at that date—

(i) Name and address of supplier ;

(ii) Date when order placed ;

(iii) Sizes including diameters or lengths and widths and also gauges.

(iv) Purposes for which they are intended to be used, i.e., breakdown, breast bench, &c.

Timber Control Notice No. 32.

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the Supply Control Emergency Regulations 1939, and the Timber Emergency Regulations 1939, I, Alexander Robert Entrican, Timber Controller, hereby require and direct as follows:—

  1. This notice may be cited as the Timber Control Notice No. 32.

  2. Every person carrying on business as a boxmaker (hereinafter referred to as “an owner”) shall, not later than the 24th day of December, 1941, deliver to the Timber Controller, Box 1, Government Buildings, Wellington, a statement containing the particulars, set out hereunder, of all corrugated fasteners and binding wire respectively in his possession or control or on order by him on the 17th day of December, 1941, namely:—

CORRUGATED FASTENERS.

(a) In the case of corrugated fasteners in the possession or control of the owner at that date—

(i) Description, i.e., single or coils ;

(ii) Sizes and quantity of each by weight ;

(iii) Purpose for which they are used.

(b) In the case of such corrugated fasteners as are on order by the owner at that date—

(i) Name and address of supplier ;

(ii) Date when order placed ;

(iii) Description, sizes, and quantity of each by weight ;

(iv) Purposes for which they are intended to be used.

BINDING WIRE.

(c) In the case of binding wire in the possession or control of the owner at that date—

(i) Description, state type, i.e., high tensile, soft, &c. ;

(ii) Gauges ;

(iii) Quantities of each kind by weight ;

(iv) Purposes for which used.

(d) In the case of such binding wire as is on order by the owner on that date—

(i) Description, state type, i.e., high tensile, soft, &c. ;

(ii) Gauges ;

(iii) Quantities of each kind by weight ;

(iv) Purpose for which such wire is intended to be used.
