Appointments and Relinquishments of Temporary Rank of Officers on Active Service with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force Overseas.

H IS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to confirm the following appointments and relinquishments of temporary rank of officers on active service with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force overseas, vide List No. 45:-
APPOINTMENTS.
Commands and Staff.
Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) F. M. H. Hansen, M.M., N.Z. Engineers, relinquishes command of the 7th Field Company, N.Z. Engineers, and is appointed C.R.E., 2nd N.Z. Division. Dated 18th October, 1941. Major E. R. Harford, 2nd N.Z. Divisional Cavalry, relinquishes the appointment of second in command, N.Z. Composite Training Depot, and ceases to be seconded. Dated 25th October, 1941. Major J. Vincent, D.C.M., M.M., N.Z. Divisional Signals, relinquishes command of the N.Z. Signal School, Base, on being placed on the New Zealand Roll, and remains seconded. Dated 30th October, 1941. Major S. J. Kelly, Southern Infantry, relinquishes command of the N.Z. Rest Camp, is appointed to command the N.Z. Reception Depot, and remains seconded. Dated 25th October, 1941. Major G. F. Bertrand, 28th (Maori) Battalion, relinquishes the appointment of second in command of the Battalion, is appointed second in command, N.Z. Composite Training Depot, and is seconded. Dated 25th October, 1941. Major H. G. Dyer, 28th (Maori) Battalion, is appointed second in command of the Battalion. Dated 25th October, 1941. Major R. L. C. Grant, N.Z. Divisional Signals, is appointed to command the N.Z. Signals School, Base, and is seconded. Dated 30th October, 1941. Major A. E. Smith, M.B.E., N.Z. Divisional Signals, is appointed second in command, N.Z. Divisional Signals. Dated 25th October, 1941. Major W. G. Middlemass, N.Z. Dental Corps, is appointed to command N.Z. Mobile Dental Section. Dated 29th July, 1941. Captain R. L. Hutchens, Central Infantry, relinquishes the appointment of Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General, Headquarters, Maadi Camp, and ceases to be seconded. Dated 25th October, 1941. Captain E. F. Laws, Central Infantry, is appointed Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General, Headquarters, Maadi Camp, and is seconded. Dated 25th October, 1941.
TEMPORARY RANKS RELINQUISHED.
Lieutenant (temp. Captain) L. G. Smith, 26th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 7th October, 1941. 2nd Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) O. J. Hatton, N.Z. Composite Training Depot, relinquishes the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 28th October, 1941. Sister (temp. Charge Sister) M. G. Moore relinquishes the temporary rank of Charge Sister. Dated 27th October, 1941. Major A. S. Muir, O.B.E., E.D., Central Infantry, is appointed Deputy Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster-General, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force, and is seconded. Dated 27th October, 1941. Major R. L. C. Grant, N.Z. Divisional Signals, relinquishes the appointment of second in command, N.Z. Divisional Signals. Dated 30th October, 1941. Major C. L.
