The undermentioned Pilot Officers are confirmed in their rank and granted the rank of Flying Officer (temp.). Dated 1st December, 1940:—

Transfer.

Flying Officer Edward Alexander Barker (temporary commission) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class A, Section I. Dated 31st December, 1940.

Relinquishment.

Pilot Officer (on probation) William Keith Anderson relinquishes his commission. Dated 6th December, 1940.

ERRATUM.

In the notice “Administrative and Special Duties Branch, Appointments,” published in New Zealand Gazette No. 125 of the 12th December, 1940, on page 3696, the appointment of Flight Lieutenant George Thomas Wilson, dated 28th October, 1940, is to a “Temporary Commission.”

Lieutenant J. Burns is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst employed as Chief Instructor, Coast Artillery School, Fort Dorset. Dated 20th November, 1940.

N.Z. PERMANENT STAFF.

W.O. I (Staff Sergeant-Major) Kenneth Bishop, to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and is appointed Adjutant, The Waikato Mounted Rifles, Hamilton. Dated 11th December, 1940.

W.O. I (Staff Sergeant-Major) John Sydney Thomson, to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and is appointed Weapon Training Instructor, Mobilization Camp, Papakura. Dated 11th December, 1940.

W.O. II (Staff Sergeant-Major) Albert de Bolton Pool Steward, to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and is appointed Adjutant, 2nd Battalion, The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), Auckland. Dated 11th December, 1940.

REGIMENT OF ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY.

W.O. II (temp. W.O. I) (Regimental Sergeant-Major) Frederick William Thomas Bradshaw to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and is appointed Adjutant 12th Field Regiment, N.Z.A., Wellington. Dated 11th December, 1940.

Staff Sergeant (temp. W.O. II) Albert Ernest Gaustad to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.). Dated 1st December, 1940.

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.

Major C. F. Howden, M.R.C.S. Eng., L.R.C.P. Lond., is granted the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst holding the appointment of Senior Medical Officer, Mobilization Camp, Papakura. Dated 5th December, 1940.

Captain R. B. Schulze relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, Mobilization Camp, Trentham, is appointed General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade, Central Military District, Wellington, and is granted the rank of Major whilst so employed. Dated 7th October, 1940.

Lieutenant N. C. Shephard to be Captain. Dated 1st November, 1940.

Lieutenant A. P. F. Neesham to be Captain whilst holding the appointment of Camp Quartermaster, Mobilization Camp, Ngaraawahia. Dated 1st November, 1940.

Lieutenant N. J. T. Webster to be Captain whilst holding the appointment of Acting Area Officer, No. 8 Area, New Plymouth. Dated 1st November, 1940.

Major F. L. G. McKenzie, F.D., The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own), to be Captain, and is appointed Quartermaster, Dannevirke Camp. Dated 27th November, 1940.

2nd Lieutenant W. H. Parker to be Lieutenant (temp. Captain). Dated 26th November, 1940.
