MASTERTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

The Masterton County Rural Housing Loan No. 1, 1940, of £10,000.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following resolution was passed at a meeting of the Masterton County Council held on the 10th day of September, 1940:—

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Masterton County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“ That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, principal, and other charges on the Masterton County Rural Housing Loan No. 1, 1940, of £10,000, authorized to be raised by the Masterton County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of making advances to farmers for the erection of dwellings under the Rural Housing Act, 1939, the said Masterton County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-seventh (1/27d.) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the whole of the County of Masterton; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring special rate during the currency of the said loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of and a correct extract from the minutes of an ordinary meeting of the Masterton County Council held at the Council Chambers, Chapel Street, Masterton, on the 10th day of September, 1940.

Notice of intention to take land for the purpose of a road or street through Ngapakihi Nos. 1m and 1n, 2a 2b, and 3a 6 and Railway land and to close as a road the land adjoining Section 8 and Ngapakihi Nos. 1m, 3a 6, 2a 2a, 2a 2b, 2b 4a, and 2b 3a, Block VII, Makotuku Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other Act and power thereunto enabling, to take the land firstly described in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of a road or street and also to close the land secondly described in the said Schedule as a road or street: And notice is hereby further given that plans of the lands so required to be taken and to be closed as aforesaid are deposited in the offices of the Raetihi Borough Council and of the Waimarino County Council at Raetihi and are there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking or closing of the said lands should, if they have any well-grounded objection to the taking or closing of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Mayor of the Raetihi Borough Council or to the Chairman of the Waimarino County Council at Raetihi.
