PROMOTION.

Permanent Reserve Officers. Permanent or Temporary Reserve Officers.
(i) R.N.R. (ii) R.N.V.R.

Sub-Lieutenant to Lieutenant.

(a) To have attained two years seniority as Sub-Lieutenant including probationary time; | (a) Served for three years as Sub-Lieutenant including probationary time; | (a) Attained the age of twenty-five;
(b) To have served at least one year on articles in full charge of a watch for eight hours out of every twenty-four at sea while in possession of a first mate’s certificate. Naval training in a seagoing vessel to be counted; | (b) Performed the requisite Naval training as Sub-Lieutenant and have been well reported on by Commanding Officers; | (b) Performed a minimum of one year’s mobilized training whilst holding the rank of Probationary Sub-Lieutenant or above;
(c) To be in possession of satisfactory records and reports of service for the period of (a), including a Watchkeeping Certificate from the Naval Authorities. | (c) Passed qualifying examinations in gunnery, minesweeping, depth charges, and signals; | (c) Possess a Naval Watchkeeping Certificate. See paragraph 3 of this Order;
| (d) Recommended by the Commanding Officer of his Division. | (d) Recommended by Commanding Officer; or
| | (a) Attained two years six months’ seniority as Probationary Sub-Lieutenant or above;
| | (b) Performed a minimum of one year’s mobilized service and/or Naval training whilst holding the rank of Probationary Sub-Lieutenant, or above;
| | (c) Possess a Naval Watchkeeping Certificate. See paragraph 3 of this Order;
| | (d) Recommended by Commanding Officers; or
| | (a) Confirmed as Sub-Lieutenant after satisfactorily completing a minimum of three months’ service;
| | (b) Attained age of thirty;
| | (c) Recommended by the Commanding Officer.

Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant to Paymaster-Lieutenant.

A Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant shall be promoted to Paymaster-Lieutenant automatically after two years’ service as Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant (including probationary time) provided that the requisite naval training has been performed and the officer is recommended for promotion. | (a) Attained the age of twenty-five;
| (b) Performed a minimum of one year’s mobilized service and/or Naval training;
| (c) Recommended by the Commanding Officer; or
| (a) Attained the age of thirty;
| (b) Confirmed as Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant after satisfactorily completing a minimum of three months’ service;
| (c) Recommended by the Commanding Officer.

Appointing the Rawene Town Board, in lieu of the Hokianga County Council, as Trustees of the Rawene Cemetery.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the appointment made by a certain Warrant dated the twenty-ninth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and published in the Gazette on the second day of December of the same year, of the Hokianga County Council as trustees of the Rawene Cemetery and in lieu thereof do hereby appoint

The Rawene Town Board

as trustees of the said Rawene Cemetery as described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

RAWENE CEMETERY.

ALL that area in the Rawene Town District situated in Block XIV, Mangamuka Survey District, containing by admeasurement a total of 4 acres 0 roods 22·6 perches, more or less, being parts Allotment 105, Suburbs of Rawene, containing 29·6 perches and 3 acres 3 roods 33 perches respectively. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked 191/2/680, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Health, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of September, 1940.

Land permanently reserved in the North Auckland Land District for Recreation Purposes.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month, but not later than six months, after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by the Warrant dated the tenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty, and published in the Gazette of the eighteenth day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for recreation purposes:

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the land described in the Schedule hereto for recreation purposes for which purpose the said land was so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.
