Lieutenant-Commander, R.N., to date 5th June, 1940.

Lieutenant Hugh Ernest Cave, Royal Navy (Retired),
appointed to H.M.S. "Philomel" additional, for H.M.S.
"Wakakura" additional, for training, to date 26th
August, 1940.
Paymaster-Lieutenant Herbert Twhigg, Royal Naval
Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand) (Retired), appointed
to H.M.S. "Achilles" additional, to date 18th August,
1940, and vice Trythall (date to be reported).

Captain F. H. Grace, Reserve of Officers, The Nelson-
Marlborough Mounted Rifles, to be Captain, and is
appointed Company Commander, Training Battalion,
Mobilization Camp, Burnham. Dated 5th August,
1940.
Horace Frank Purcell (late Imperial Army), to be
Lieutenant, and is appointed Assistant to the Staff
Officer, Ordnance Services, Army Headquarters,
Wellington. Dated 19th August, 1940.
CORPS OF N.Z. ENGINEERS.
Lieutenant K. H. Melvin, 1st Field Company, resigns his
commission. Dated 22nd August, 1940.
THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.
Lieutenant R. P. Callaway ceases to be posted to the
1st Battalion, and is posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion,
with seniority from 1st July, 1937. Dated 23rd August,
1940.
THE WAIKATO REGIMENT.
Captain J. C. Lyne, from the Reserve of Officers, to be
Captain (temp.), with seniority from 23rd July, 1940,
and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 7th August,
1940.
THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT (CITY OF WELLINGTON'S OWN).
The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants (temp.), and
are posted to the 1st Battalion:

NATIONAL MILITARY RESERVE.
Captain A. A. Currey, M.M., Retired List, to be Captain,
with seniority from 22nd July, 1940, and is posted to
the 1st Battalion. Dated 17th August, 1940.
N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
George Hector Levien, M.B., Ch.B., to be Lieutenant, and
is posted to the 1st Field Ambulance. Dated 29th
July, 1940.
Frederick Charles Platts, M.B., Ch.B., to be Lieutenant,
and is attached to the 1st Field Ambulance. Dated
