DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership previously existing between Messrs. CLIFTON FRANK JACOBS and HERBERT MEYRIC WILLIAMS, carrying on business as Farmers, at Parawera, Te Awamutu, under the name of “Jacobs and Williams,” has been dissolved as from the 31st day of May, 1940, by the retirement of Mr. H. M. Williams. The business will henceforth be carried on by Mr. C. F. Jacobs to whom should be addressed all outstanding accounts.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of J. FLETCHER AND CO., LIMITED (in Voluntary Liquidation),

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 8th day of August, 1940, the above-named company passed the following special resolution:—

  1. That the company be wound up voluntarily.
  2. That Mr. J. D. FLETCHER, of Dunedin, be, and he is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.

Waterworks Development Loan, 1940 (£221,800).

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £221,800, authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for providing funds for the purpose of extending and improving the waterworks undertaking of the City of Auckland as follows:—

“(a) Provision of new feeder mains in areas where the supply of water is at present insufficient, estimated to cost £71,720;

“(b) Extensions and improvements to reticulation as and where from time to time required, estimated to cost £30,000;

“(c) Remodelling and additions to pumping station in Upper Symonds Street, estimated to cost £2,500;

“(d) Provision of a service reservoir in or near the City with a capacity of approximately 6,000,000 gallons, a storage reservoir with a capacity of approximately 1,000,000 gallons at the outlet of the Hua Filter Station at Titirangi, and small reservoirs with a total capacity of approximately half a million gallons at outlying points, together with necessary connecting mains, estimated to cost £80,000;

“(e) Improvements to filters and installation of Venturi meters, estimated to cost £12,600;

“(f) Purchase of land in or adjacent to catchment areas at Waitakere and Hunua and erection of necessary fencing, estimated to cost £25,000,

the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and three-tenths pence (1.3d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property comprising the whole of the City of Auckland; and that such special rate be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years or until such loan is fully paid off.”

Certified to be a true and correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of a meeting of the Auckland City Council held on the 22nd day of August, 1940.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore subsisting between RICHARD HICKSON and ROBERT STRATTON, carrying on business as Butchers, at Upper Hutt, has been dissolved by mutual consent, as at the 14th August, 1940, and the said business will henceforth be carried on by the said Richard Hickson alone, to whom all accounts are to be paid and rendered and by whom all accounts owing by the said business will be paid.

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Rural Housing Loan, 1940, £25,000.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Waipa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, principal, and other charges on a loan of £25,000, authorized to be raised by the Waipa County Council under the abovementioned Act, for the purpose of advancing money to farmers for the erection of dwellings or for adding to existing dwellings, pursuant to the provision of the Rural Housing Act, 1939, the said Waipa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four twenty-fifths of a penny (4/25d.) in the pound upon the rateable (unimproved) value of all rateable property in the whole of the County of Waipa; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable annually on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Waipa County Council held on Monday, the 19th August, 1940.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership subsisting between the undersigned FRED LOWE and CECIL ROBERT STACEY, carrying on business in Railway Road, Hastings, as “Fred Lowe Motors,” has been dissolved as from 1st August, 1940, and that the motor service-station business at that address is now being carried on on his own account by the said Cecil Robert Stacey who will receive all debts owing to the late partnership.
