Constituting the Meringa Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 3765.)

GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 14th day of August, 1940.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section thirty of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, on petition in that behalf signed by a majority of the persons qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers list for any proposed district, constitute and declare any area of land of not less than one thousand acres a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act:

And whereas in pursuance of the provisions of the said section thirty of the said Act a petition has been received praying that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto be constituted and declared a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act, and it is deemed expedient to give effect to the prayer of the petitioners accordingly:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute by the specific name of the “Meringa Rabbit District” and declare that area of land defined in the Schedule hereto to be a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act, and doth hereby further declare that the basis on which the Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be on the basis of the acreage of the rateable property in the said district.

SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE MERINGA RABBIT DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Taumarunui County containing 106,000 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block XIIIA, Ongarue Survey District, being the confluence of the Mangatukutuku Stream and the Ongarue River; thence in a south-easterly direction generally up the Mangatukutuku Stream and along the northern boundaries of Rangitoto-Tuhua Nos. 21B, 3A, and 3B Blocks; thence in a southerly direction generally along the eastern boundaries of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 21B, Nos. 3B, 2B 2B, 2B 3, 2B 1A, 2A 2A, 1B, 1C, and 1A Blocks, Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 67D Block, and the northern boundaries of Sections 1 and 2, Block XII, Tuhua Survey District; thence following the western boundaries of Blocks IX and XIII, Puketapu Survey District, and Blocks I, V, and IX, Maungaku Survey District, to the Wanganui River; thence in a generally northern direction down the Wanganui River, along the generally north-eastern and north-western boundaries of the Taumarunui Borough and up the Ongarue River to the point of commencement.

Declaring Road in the City of Christchurch to be under the Control and Management of the Christchurch City Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of August, 1940.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be under the control and management of the Christchurch City Council.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road dealt with: 3 roods 0·2 perches.
Being road by Proclamation published in New Zealand Gazette 1940, page 1321, and formerly part Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, D.P. 11482, being part Rural Section 154.

Situated in the City of Christchurch (Canterbury R.D.). (S.O. 7144.)

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 106123, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Declaring Portions of Road in Block IV, Woodville Survey District, to be Government Road.

GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of August, 1940.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become Government road.

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 101507, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Declaring Portion of Road in the City of Auckland to be under the Control and Management of the Auckland City Council.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of August, 1940.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be under the control and management of the Auckland City Council.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the portion of road dealt with: 2 roods 1·3 perches.
Being road by Proclamation published in New Zealand Gazette 1940, page 1702, and formerly being part Lot 1 on D.P. 29103, being part Allotment 10, Section 9, Suburbs of Auckland.

Situated in Block XVI, Waitemata Survey District (City of Auckland) (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 30757.)

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 107562, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.
