All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM BOROUGH OF FEATHERSTON AND INCLUDED IN THE COUNTY OF FEATHERSTON.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District being Section 1, Block III, Wairarapa Survey District, on plan 333/5, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Wellington; bounded on the north-east by Section 66, Township of Featherston, on the south-east by Harrison Street, on the south-west by Railway land and Featherston Domain, and on the north-west by Section 516, Township of Featherston.

Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Southland) Order 1940.

PURSUANT to the Oil Fuel Retail Hours Emergency Regulations 1940, and pursuant to a requisition in writing received in that behalf, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct as follows:—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Southland) Order 1940.

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 26th day of August, 1940.

  3. This Order shall apply to all establishments engaged in the sale by retail of oil fuel situate within the area comprised in Areas 10 to 16 (inclusive) as defined in the Motor-spirits Prices (Otago and Southland) Regulations 1938, Serial Number 1938/23.

  4. On and after the coming into force of this Order all such establishments except as hereinafter provided shall be closed during the whole of every Sunday, every Good Friday, every Anzac Day, and every Christmas Day, and shall on every Friday be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 8 a.m. till 9 p.m. and closed at all other times on every Friday, and on every other day of the week shall be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. and closed at all other times on the said respective days: Provided that in the Borough of Riverton and in the Townships of Waimahaka, Tokanui, and Mokotua all such establishments shall close for the sale of oil fuel at 6 p.m. on Fridays and 9 p.m. on Saturdays in lieu of 9 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively, and provided further that on the day immediately preceding Good Friday and on the day immediately preceding Christmas Day all such establishments shall be opened for the sale of oil fuel till midnight.

  5. Nothing in this Order shall apply to the establishment of Watts and Grieve, Ltd., Wood Street, Invercargill.

  6. Except as hereinafter provided the undermentioned establishments shall on every Sunday and on every Good Friday, every Anzac Day, and every Christmas Day be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 8 a.m. till 5 p.m. and closed at all other times on the said respective days, and shall on every other day of the week be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m. in addition to the hours hereinbefore specified: Provided that in those localities for which two or more establishments are mentioned hereunder the hours specified herein shall be observed in weekly rotation in the order named commencing upon the coming into force of this Order.

Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Palmerston North) Order 1940.

PURSUANT to the Oil Fuel Retail Hours Emergency Regulations 1940, and pursuant to a requisition in writing received in that behalf, I, Frederick Jones, acting for the Minister of Labour, do hereby direct as follows:—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Palmerston North) Order 1940.

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 26th day of August, 1940.

  3. This Order shall apply to all establishments engaged in the sale by retail of oil fuel and situate in the Borough of Palmerston North and in the Township of Milson.

  4. On and after the coming into force of this Order, all such establishments except as hereinafter provided shall be closed for the sale of oil fuel during the whole of every Sunday, and shall on every Friday be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 8 a.m. till 9.30 p.m. and closed at all other times on every Friday, and on every other day of the week shall be open for the sale of oil fuel from 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. and closed at all other times on the said respective days.

  5. The establishment situate at 280 Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North, called “The Emergency Supply Station,” shall be opened on every Sunday for the sale of oil fuel from 8 a.m. till noon and from 1 p.m. till 6 p.m. and on every Friday shall be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 9.30 p.m. till 11 p.m. and on every other day of the week shall be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 6 p.m. till 11 p.m.: Provided that notwithstanding the foregoing such establishment shall supply oil fuel that may be urgently required on Sundays between midnight and 8 a.m., between noon and 1 p.m., and between 6 p.m. and midnight, and on every other day of the week between midnight and 8 a.m. and between 11 p.m. and midnight.

  6. Nothing in the Order shall apply to the establishment of Jolly and Mills, Ltd., in respect of the supply of oil fuel to the Superior Oil Co., Ltd.
