Testing Officers under the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1940.
IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1940, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve, until further notice, of the persons named in Column 2 of the First Schedule hereunder being Testing Officers under the said regulations for the authorities specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule, and does hereby revoke the appointment of the persons named in Column 2 of the Second Schedule as Testing Officers for the authority specified in Column 1 of the Second Schedule.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.
IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport does hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein, shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.
SCHEDULE.
SITUATED within Waihemo County—
All that area of the Christchurch–Dunedin Main Highway No. 101 adjacent to the Borough of Palmerston and bounded to the east by a right line across the said main highway at a distance of 33 chains measured along the centre-line of the said main highway in an easterly direction from the eastern boundary of Palmerston Borough, as now constituted; bounded to the north by the northern boundary of the said main highway; bounded to the west by the eastern boundary of Palmerston Borough, as now constituted; and bounded to the south by the southern boundary of the said main highway; the whole area being indicated by the plan marked TT. 1638, deposited at the office of the Transport Department at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Special Order made by the Mangonui County Council declaring that Sections 121 and 131, Counties Act, 1920, shall not apply to that Council.

THE following special order made by the Mangonui County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931.

SPECIAL ORDER.
IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931, the Mangonui County Council resolves and declares by way of special order that sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920, shall not apply to the Council.
Such special order shall take effect from the close of the present financial year.
The foregoing special order was duly made by the Mangonui County Council passed and adopted at a special meeting of the said Council convened for that purpose on the 27th day of June, 1940, and confirmed by the said Council on the 26th day of July, 1940.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Mangonui was affixed hereto at a meeting and by order of the Mangonui County Council on the 26th day of July, 1940, in the presence of—

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries.—Borough of Featherston.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the Borough of Featherston and included in the County of Featherston.
