Land Surveyors’ Examination, September, 1940.—Australia and New Zealand.

The Survey Board of New Zealand,
Wellington, 23rd July, 1940.

IT is hereby notified for general information that the Survey Board, in conjunction with the Australian Surveyors’ Boards, will conduct an examination of candidates for registration as surveyors, commencing at 10 a.m., on Monday, 9th September, 1940, at Wellington.

Candidates are notified that their applications, on the proper form, must reach the Secretary of the Board not later than Monday, 26th August, 1940, and that the examination fee must be paid at the same time to the Secretary, from whom application forms and other particulars may be obtained.

Candidates who have completed at least two years’ service under articles of indenture will be accepted for examination in any of the written subjects, and, with candidates completing former sittings, may present themselves for examination at any Chief Surveyor’s Office.

New candidates for the full examination will sit in Wellington.

The fees for examination are as follows:—

NOTE.—Rule VIII (1), which allows a student to present himself for examination in subjects 1 to 4 inclusive, on completion of two years under articles of indenture, has been modified, and for the war period candidates who have completed at least two years under articles will be permitted to sit for any of the written subjects.

Rule VIII (2) and (3) has also been modified, for the war period, to permit candidates who have completed their term of indentureship to sit for any of the written subjects prior to lodging their plans or presenting themselves for the preliminary examination held in Wellington.


CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Land in Wellington Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 23rd July, 1940.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 12 o’clock noon on Monday, 26th August, 1940.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, on Wednesday, 28th August, 1940, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Kaitieke County.—Hunua Survey District.

SECTIONS 79 and 87, Block VI: Area, 94 acres 0 roods 32 perches. Capital value, £95. Deposit on deferred payments, £5. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £2 18s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £1 18s.

Weighted with £406 10s. (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising felling, grassing and stumping, fencing, water-supply, whare, hay-shed, cow-shed and separator-room.

The sections are situated two miles from Kakahi Railway-station, Post-office, and School, six miles from Piriaka School, and thirteen miles from Taumarunui Saleyards; access is by formed pumice road from Kakahi. The soil is pumice resting on pumaceous formation. There is no natural water-supply. The land is suitable for dairying.

Town Land in Marlborough Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

Blenheim, 24th July, 1940.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, on Wednesday, 21st August, 1940, at 11 o’clock a.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN OF WARD.

SECTION 1, Block XIII: Area, 3 acres. Upset annual rent, £5.

Weighted with £500 for improvements, comprising house of sixteen rooms, wash-house and store-room, barn and stable, fowl-house, shelter belt, and fencing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £200, the balance may be repaid by twenty half-yearly instalments of £19 5s., including principal and interest.
