“That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that LEWIS NATHAN ROSS, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be appointed liquidator for the purpose of a members’ voluntary winding up.”

Notice of Voluntary Winding-up Resolution.
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held on the 27th day of June, 1940, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed :—
“That the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up and that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that IAN ERNEST STILL, of Dunedin, Accountant, be, and is hereby appointed liquidator of the company, and that the remuneration of the liquidator shall be determined at the said meeting.”

IN LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of THE SEATOUN BOWLING AND TENNIS CLUB, LTD. (in Liquidation).
NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of members of the above company will be held at the Seatoun Bowling Club’s Pavilion, Dundas Street, Seatoun, on Monday, the 19th August, 1940, at 7.30 p.m., when the liquidator will, in accordance with section 232 of the said Act, lay before the meeting an account of the winding up and give any explanation thereof, and at the same meeting the following resolution will be proposed as an extraordinary resolution :—
“That the books and papers of the said company and of the liquidator be disposed of by delivering the same to Seatoun Bowling Club (Inc.) which society shall thereafter be entitled to the custody thereof.”

THE PUBLIC MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANY OF NEW ZEALAND.
IN LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Motor Vehicles Insurance (Third-party Risks) Act, 1928; the Insurance Companies Deposits Act, 1921–22; and section 53 of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1933; and in the matter of THE PUBLIC MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANY OF NEW ZEALAND (in Liquidation).
THE Public Mutual Insurance Company of New Zealand (in liquidation) has given notice to the Public Trustee that the said company has ceased to carry on the business of undertaking insurance business in terms of the Motor Vehicles Insurance (Third-party Risks) Act, 1928, and proposes to withdraw the sum deposited with the Public Trustee under section 53 of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1933.
The Public Trustee therefore gives notice that on being satisfied that all of the liabilities of the said company in respect of Motor Vehicles Insurance (Third-party Risks) have been fully liquidated or provided for, he proposes to repay the deposit made by the said company in accordance with section 53 of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1933.
Any objection to the said release in accordance with section 8 of the Insurance Companies Deposits Act, 1921–22, of the said deposit should be lodged with the Public Trustee at the Public Trust Office, Lambton Quay, Wellington, on or before the 31st day of July, 1940.

COUNTY OF STRATFORD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and the Rural Housing Act, 1939, and all other Acts and powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Stratford County Council hereby resolves :—
“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, repayment of principal, and other charges on the Stratford County Rural Housing Loan, £5,000 (1940), to be raised by the Stratford County Council for the purpose of making advances under the Rural Housing Act, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ·061516 of one penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the County of Stratford; and the said special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 8th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

SMITH’S SERVICE STORE, LIMITED.
IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of SMITH’S SERVICE STORE, LIMITED (in Voluntary Liquidation).
NOTICE is hereby given that the above-named company passed by entry in its minute-book on the 6th day of July, 1940, the following extraordinary resolution :—
“That, owing to the sale of the company’s business, the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. A. F. LEE, of Napier, be, and is hereby appointed the liquidator for the purposes of such winding up.”
And notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section 300 (7) of the above-mentioned Act, a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held at the office of the Stephenson Trading Co., Ltd., Station Street, Napier, on Tuesday, the 16th day of July, 1940, at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs, together with a list of creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be liquidator of the company, and, in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.
