rank of Flight Lieutenant. Dated 10th June, 1940.
John Henley James Stevenson is granted a temporary
commission in the Administrative and Special Duties
Branch in the rank of Flight Lieutenant. Dated 19th
June, 1940.
Warrant Officer Sydney Alexander Noble, M.B.E., M.M.,
is granted a temporary commission in the Administrative
and Special Duties Branch in the rank of Flying Officer,
with seniority from 15th June, 1938. Dated 15th June,
1940.
Relinquishment of Appointment.
Flying Officer (Honorary) Harry Langtry, R.M.S.M.,
relinquishes his appointment as Musical Director and is
transferred to the Retired List with permission to retain
his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 31st
March, 1940.

Waterfront Control Commission Emergency Regulations 1940.—
Appointment of Wellington Wharf Superintendents.
IN pursuance of the powers in that behalf conferred upon
me by the Waterfront Control Commission Emergency
Regulations 1940, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of
Labour, do hereby appoint
Edward Alfred Rate, and
Reuben Holroyd
to be Wharf Superintendents at the Port of Wellington.

Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee.
NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the power
and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public
Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee
of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed Charles
James Hay of the Public Trust Office, Waipukurau, to be
deputy of the District Public Trustee, Waipukurau, during
the absence of such District Public Trustee from his head-
quarters from any cause, and all previous warrants appointing
any deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been
revoked.
