THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointments in the Public Service:—
Joseph Colbourne,
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Dannevirke, as from the 19th day of December, 1939.
Wesley Gordon Jenks,
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Petone, as from the 18th day of December, 1939.
Frank Sampson David,
to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths at Amuri, as from the 5th day of January, 1940.
Robert Joseph Foster Whiting,
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Pahiatua, as from the 23rd day of December, 1939.

Variation of Notice including additional Land in the Bay of Islands Development Scheme.
PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 4 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby varies the notice dated the 7th day of September, 1932, and published in Gazette No. 62 of the 22nd day of the same month at page 2046, declaring the Kaikou A 2 and other blocks to be subject to section 522 of the Native Land Act, 1931 (now part I of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936), by substituting for the description and area set out in the First Schedule hereto the description and area set out in the Second Schedule hereto.
