The Breadmaking Industry Control Notice 1940.

P URSUANT to Regulation 2 of the Supply Control
Emergency Regulations 1939, Amendment No. 1,
the Minister of Supply doth hereby declare as
follows:—

  1. This notice may be cited as the Breakmaking
    Industry Control Notice 1940.
  2. The breakmaking industry, as hereinafter defined,
    is a controlled industry for the purposes of the Supply
    Control Emergency Regulations 1939.
  3. For the purposes of this notice the breadmaking
    industry shall be deemed to include the making,
    distribution, and sale of bread.

Amendment to Former Notice.
Previous Notice: No. 1 of 1940, Admiralty. No. 17
of 1939, New Zealand.
Amendment: Part III. Mine-sweeping operations.
(1) Signals shown by day.
(b) By vessels working in pairs or groups: Second
paragraph is to be expunged and the following sub-
stituted :—
Vessels or formations showing these signals are
not to be approached nearer than 500 yards on
either beam and ships are not to cross astern at a
less distance than 1,000 yards. In no circumstances
is a ship to pass through a formation of
mine-sweepers.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Town Settlement Land in Auckland Land District for Selection
on Renewable Lease.
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 26th June, 1940.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section
is open for selection on renewable lease under the
Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and the Land Act, 1924;
and applications will be received at the Auckland District
Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o'clock a.m.
on Monday, 29th July, 1940.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland,
on Wednesday, 31st July, 1940, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but
if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by
any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown
Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of
the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant
is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a
deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period
rent, and lease fee.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN SETTLEMENT LAND.
Taupo County.—Reporoa Township.
SECTION 8, Block IV: Area, 1 rood. Capital value, £45;
half-yearly rent, £1 2s. 6d.
This is a level residential-site situated in Reporoa Town-
ship on Main Rotorua-Waiotapu Road, approximately
twenty-five miles from Rotorua.
Any further information required may be obtained from
the undersigned.

Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable

Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections

Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o'clock
a.m. on Monday, 29th July, 1940.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland,
on Wednesday, 31st July, 1940, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but
if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined
by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown
Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when
examined documentary evidence of their financial position,
such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit
from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile
firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give
financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially
should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and
supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are
required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit
comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease
fee, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.
NOTE.—These sections are offered in terms of section 153
of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any
mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessees, whose
rights shall be to the surface soil only.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Thames County.—Ohinemuri Survey District.—Hauraki
Mining District.
PART Section 1, Block III, and Section 6, Block IV: Area,
650 acres, approximately. Capital value, £165; half-
yearly rent, £3 6s.
Area subject to slight alteration on completion of survey.
Weighted with £930 for improvements, comprising
dwelling, garage, wool-shed, and outbuildings, approximately
400 acres in pasture and rough feed, and fencing. This sum
is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £30,
the balance, £900, may be paid by half-yearly instalments
of principal and interest of £27 each, over a period of thirty-
six and a half years.
A grazing proposition situated on the Whangamata-
Hikutaia Road, eight miles from Whangamata Post-office,
four miles and a half from Whangamata School, and fourteen
miles from Hikutaia Railway-station and Saleyards. Easy
to hilly country of which 150 acres is in pasture, 250 acres
rough feed, balance unimproved with mixed bush. Access
is by metalled road on the north from Whangamata but
alternative access is obtained on the south by metalled road
to about 20 chains from Section 6, after which recourse
must be had to stock-track and ford. The Department
will not provide any better access than that already available.
