Notice of Intention to take Land for Road in Block II, Akaroa Survey District, and Block XIII, Pigeon Bay Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Little River and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Notification of Approval of Rules.—Hawke’s Bay Acclimatization Society.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 25 of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I hereby notify that copies of the amendments to its rules made by the Hawke’s Bay Acclimatization Society on the 5th day of October, 1939, have been forwarded to me and were approved on the 12th day of June, 1940.

NOTICE has been received under the hand of the Returning Officer of the Marlborough Coast Rabbit Board established under the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, that Thomas Davies and Edward Lissaman Good have been duly elected to be members of the said Board.

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby declares the Native land described in the Schedule hereto to be subject to Part I of the said Act and to be included in the Pihama Development Scheme.

ALL that area of Native land situate in the Aotea Native Land Court District and known as Subdivision B of Section 1, Block II, Oeo Survey District, containing 337 acres 1 rood 9 perches, more or less.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Manufacture of Soap and Soap-powder.

NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been received from McCallums Soap Works, Auckland, for a license to carry on the industry of “the manufacture for sale of soap and soap-powder” to the extent of manufacturing soap-powder and milled toilet soap.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 4th July, 1940.
