has been duly elected to be an additional member of the Waimetata Bobby Calf Pool Committee established by the said regulations.

Notice under the Enemy Trading Emergency Regulations 1939.—Freights.

I, DANIEL GILES SULLIVAN, Minister of Industries and Commerce, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by Clause (2) of Regulation (5) of the Enemy Trading Emergency Regulations 1939, do hereby authorize William Smith MacGibbon and Arthur Oman Heany, President and Secretary respectively of the organization known as the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand, jointly and each of them severally, to pay to or for the benefit of any enemy trader on behalf of the owner of any cargo in a ship lying at a port in any country not being enemy territory for the purpose of obtaining possession of that cargo, the following sums, that is to say:—

(a) Where freight has not yet been paid an amount not exceeding the full freight which but for the outbreak of war would have been payable on completion of the voyage; and

(b) In any case such other amount as the said persons jointly or either of them severally may deem necessary not exceeding 5 per cent. of the original c.i.f. invoice value of the cargo.

The notice given under the said regulations on the 10th day of April, 1940, and published in the Gazette No. 32 on the 11th day of April, 1940, is hereby revoked.

Describing Countries for the Purpose of Endorsement of Overseas Drivers’ Licenses.

PURSUANT to Clause (12) of Regulation 4 of the Motor-drivers’ Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby notify that the countries enumerated and described in the Schedule hereto shall be the countries a license issued and valid in which shall be deemed to be an “overseas license” for the purposes of the said clause.

SCHEDULE.

The Commonwealth of Australia.
Burma.
The Dominion of Canada.
Ceylon.
The Cook Islands.
Eire (Ireland).
The Federated Malay States.
Fiji.
India.
The Netherlands East Indies.
Western Samoa and American Samoa.
The Straits Settlements.
Tonga.
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The United States of America.
Any country which forms part of the continent of Africa and is a British Dominion, Colony, or possession.
Any country wherein is issued a license to drive a private motor-car valid in that country and issued by or on behalf of the Alliance Internationale de Tourisme or the International Association of Recognized Automobile Clubs.
