A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as road the land in Waimana Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
LAND PROCLAIMED AS ROAD.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as road: 1 acre 2 roods 19 perches.
Being portion of Sections ls and 66s, Waimana Settlement; coloured red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
ROAD CLOSED.
APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of road closed :-
A. R. P. Adjoining or passing through

All in the Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 106721, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Land set apart as Provisional State Forest declared to be subject to the Land Act, 1924.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section twenty of the Forests Act, 1921-22, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Lands, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being part of Provisional State Forest Reserve No. 1627, set apart by Proclamation dated the eleventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and gazetted on the fourteenth day of that month, is required for settlement purposes ; and, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, such land shall, from and after the day of the gazetting hereof, cease to be provisional State forest, and shall become subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area containing 720 acres, more or less, being portion of Reserve 1627, provisional State forest, situated in Blocks V and IX, Toaroha Survey District, and bounded as follows : Commencing at the intersection of the left bank of the Hokitika River with the southern boundary of Block V, Toaroha Survey District, and proceeding due westerly along the said southern boundary of Block V, Toaroha Survey District, for a distance of 15 chains ; thence generally in a southerly and south-easterly direction by a line parallel to and 15 chains from the said left bank of the Hokitika River to the eastern boundary of Reserve 1627 ; thence due north along that boundary for a distance of 15 chains to the said left bank of the Hokitika River ; thence across the Hokitika River to the Mouth of Bluff Creek ; thence generally in a north-easterly direction by the south-eastern boundary of Reserve 1627 to the eastern side of the Whitcombe Valley Road ; thence by a right line generally in a north-easterly direction along the boundary of Reserve 1627 (provisional
State forest boundary) for a distance of 12 chains ; thence generally in a northerly direction by a line parallel to and 15 chains from the right bank of the Hokitika River to the left bank of the Collier Creek ; thence by a right line generally in a northerly direction to the south-western corner of Section 3665, Block V, Toaroha Survey District ; thence generally in a north-westerly direction across the Whitcombe Valley Road to the south-eastern corner of Section 720, Block V, Toaroha Survey District ; thence generally in a north-westerly direction by the south-western boundary of the said Section 720 and by the abutment of a road to the right bank of the Hokitika River; thence generally in a southerly direction along the said right bank of the Hokitika River to the southern boundary of Block V, Toaroha Survey District ; thence due west along that boundary across the Hokitika River to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. X/98/109A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 18th day of June, 1940.

Land set apart as an Endowment for Primary Education.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by subsection nine of section twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the date hereof the land comprised in the piece of closed road described in the First Schedule hereto, being land which is adjacent to the endowment for primary education described in the Second Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be added to the said endowment.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
SECTION 100, Block I, Purua Survey District : Area, 7 acres 1 rood 9 perches, more or less.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area in Whangarei County, containing by admeasurement 189 acres 1 rood 9 perches, more or less, being part of Sections 73 and 74, Block I, Purua Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Vol. 244, folio 26, Auckland Registry. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 16/2660B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered purple.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 18th day of June, 1940.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Scenery Preservation Board, constituted pursuant to the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"), has recommended that the lands described in the Schedule hereto should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation :
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be scenic reserves under the said Act, and subject to the provisions thereof,
