NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to the authority conferred on the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, the following decisions in respect of applications for licenses were made on the 10th June, 1940

Mercury Auto Supplies, Auckland Manufacture of Storage Batteries.
To engage in the industry of “ the manufacture and/or assembly of secondary or storage cells and batteries commonly known as wet batteries ” to the extent of assembling storage batteries (unspillable acid jelly type) for use in portable radios (2 volt “A” batteries), cycle-lamps, and small hand-lamps Granted.
Burgess Battery Co. (N.Z.), Ltd., Auckland Variation made to Previous Licensing Decision.

Manufacture of Dry Cell Batteries.
On the 14th August, 1939, the Bureau declined a license to engage in the industry of “ the manufacture of batteries or cells, commonly known as dry cells ” | Bureau decision reversed on appeal and license now issued to applicant company. |
