BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE HIGH SCHOOL OF WANGANUI.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Governors of the High School of Wanganui proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a public work—namely, the acquisition of lands for the site of a hostel in connection with the Wanganui Girls’ College—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.

And notice is hereby given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited at the office of the said Board, 257 Victoria Avenue, Wanganui, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Secretary of the Board of Governors of the High School of Wanganui at his office, 257 Victoria Avenue, Wanganui.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Rural Housing Act Loan, 1939.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the half-yearly instalments of principal and interest and other loan charges on a loan of £50,000, authorized to be raised by the Raglan County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of making advances to farmers to erect dwellings, or to add to or repair existing houses, the said Raglan County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 475d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property comprising the whole of the County of Raglan; such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct extract from the minutes of a special meeting of the Raglan County Council held on 22nd May, 1940.
