Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise
of the power and authority vested in him by the Harbours
Act, 1923, and of all other powers and authorities enabling
him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council
of the twenty-third day of September, one thousand nine
hundred and thirty-six, as from the first day of April, one
thousand nine hundred and forty.

Consenting to the Advancing by the Mackenzie County Council
of the Sum of Five Hundred Pounds (£500) out of its General
Account and prescribing the Conditions thereof.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of
May, 1940.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCE THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Mackenzie County Council (hereinafter
called “the said local authority”) proposes to
undertake certain capital works, namely, providing a high-
pressure water-supply for the residents of Burke’s Pass for
the benefit of a defined portion of its district to be known
as Burke’s Pass Water-supply Special Rating Area:
And whereas the said local authority being desirous, in lieu
of raising the moneys by special loan for such works, of
advancing the sum required therefor, namely, five hundred
pounds (£500) (hereinafter called “the said sum”) out of
its General Account, pursuant to the provisions of section
forty-five of the Finance Act, 1933 (No. 2), has complied
with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board
Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said Act”) and it is
expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General
in Council, as required by the said Act, should be given
to the advancing of the said sum:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on him by section eleven of the said Act, as set out
in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2),
and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this
behalf, doth hereby consent to the advancing by the said
local authority out of its General Account, pursuant to the
provisions of section forty-five of the Finance Act, 1933
(No. 2), for the particular benefit of the ratepayers of the said
Burke’s Pass Water-supply Special Rating Area of the said
sum or any part thereof, and in giving consent doth hereby
determine that the moneys so advanced, together with interest
thereon at such rate not exceeding four pounds five shillings
(£4 5s.) per centum per annum as the said local authority
shall from time to time determine, shall be recouped to the
General Account by equal annual instalments extending over
a period not exceeding twenty (20) years.

of the Sum of Five Hundred and Fifty Pounds (£550) out
of its General Account and prescribing the Conditions thereof.

WHEREAS the Westland County Council (hereinafter
called “the said local authority”) proposes to
undertake certain capital works, namely, erecting protection
works on portions of the Little Wanganui (Poerua) River,
for the benefit of a defined portion of its district to be known
as Poerua River Protection Special Rating Area:
And whereas the said local authority being desirous, in
lieu of raising the moneys by special loan for such works, of
advancing the sum required therefor, namely, five hundred
and fifty pounds (£550) (hereinafter called “the said sum”)
out of its General Account, pursuant to the provisions of
section forty-five of the Finance Act, 1933 (No. 2), has
complied with the provisions of the Local Government
Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said Act”),
and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-
General in Council, as required by the said Act, should be
given to the advancing of the said sum:

Consenting to the Raising by the Auckland Metropolitan Fire
Board of the Balance (£106,600) of a Loan of £125,500, and
of a Loan of £10,000.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of
May, 1940.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCE THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the twenty-first
day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-
nine, and subject to the determinations as to borrowing and
repayment therein set out, consent was given to the raising by
the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board (hereinafter called “the
said local authority”) of the sum of one hundred and twenty-
five thousand five hundred pounds (£125,500), by a loan to be
known as “Central Station Building Loan, 1939”:
And whereas by Order in Council made on the second day of
August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, the deter-
minations aforesaid were varied to provide for a sinking fund
of not less than one pound ten shillings (£1 10s.) per centum
per annum, and by Order in Council made on the third day of
April, one thousand nine hundred and forty, the determina-
tions were further varied to provide for a term not exceeding
fifteen (15) years:
And whereas the authority conferred by the said Orders in
Council has not yet been exercised to the extent of one hun-
dred and six thousand six hundred pounds (£106,600):
And whereas by Order in Council made on the seventeenth
day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty, and sub-
ject to the determinations as to borrowing and repayment
therein set out, consent was given to the raising by the said
local authority of an amount of ten thousand pounds (£10,000)
by a loan to be known as “Central Station Building Additional
Loan, 1939”:
And whereas the authority conferred by this Order in
Council of the seventeenth day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and forty, has not yet been exercised:
And whereas the said local authority is desirous of borrow-
ing the unraised amounts of one hundred and six thousand
six hundred pounds (£106,600) and ten thousand pounds
(£10,000) and it is expedient to authorize the said local
authority to borrow the said amounts in one sum of one
hundred and sixteen thousand six hundred pounds (£116,600)
on the conditions hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government
Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of
the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and
authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby cancel the
determinations made by the Order in Council of the twenty-
first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine,
as varied by the Orders in Council made on the second day of
August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, and the
third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty, and
the determinations made by the Order in Council of the
