NOTICE is hereby given that the lease and license of the undermentioned lands, having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Auckland Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Town Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 21st May, 1940.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 24th June, 1940.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 26th June, 1940, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.
Te Kuiti Borough.—Te Kuiti Native Township.
Lot 1 of Allotment 6, Block X: Area, 22·78 perches. Capital value, £525; half-yearly rent, £13 2s. 6d.
Weighted with £450 for improvements, comprising two large wooden shops with brick front and side party walls, and brick outbuilding 40 ft. by 10 ft. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £350, the balance may be paid by yearly instalments of £20 over a period of five years with interest on the unpaid purchase money at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum.
This property consists of two shop properties situated in Rora Street, Te Kuiti, approximately 200 yd. from the post-office.

Land in Nelson Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Nelson, 21st May, 1940.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Tuesday, 9th July, 1940.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, on Thursday, 11th July, 1940, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Waimea County.—Waimea Survey District.
Section 14 (formerly part Section 11), Block XII, and Section 4 (formerly part Section 3), Block XVI: Area, 1,393 acres. Capital value, £350. Deposit on deferred payments, £20. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £10 14s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £7.
Weighted with £730 for improvements, comprising 60 chains boundary fencing (half-share), 80 chains internal fencing, 1,020 acres felled and burned. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £146, the balance may be left on instalment mortgage to the State Advances Corporation for a term of twenty years with interest at 4½ per cent. reducible to 4¼ per cent. Legal costs, viz., £1 17s. in connection with the mortgage will be payable by the successful applicant.
