Kaitaia Swamp Drainage Area.—Penalty on Overdue Rates.

Wellington, 8th May, 1940.
IN pursuance of section 76 of the Rating Act, 1925, and the
Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, the
ratepayers within the areas constituted by the last-mentioned
Act are hereby notified that 10 per cent. additional will be
added to all rates for the year ended 31st March, 1940, unpaid
on the 29th May, 1940.
Rates may be paid at any money-order office on presentation
of the original demand, or to the Collector of Rates,
Chief Drainage Engineer's Office, Private Bag, Auckland, C.l.

Revoking Portion of a Warrant Declaring Areas to be Closely
Populated Localities and Declaring an Area to be a Closely
Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles
Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.
IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment
Act, 1936, and of all other powers enabling him in that
behalf, the Minister of Transport does hereby revoke that
portion of the Warrant dated the 23rd day of November,
1938, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 84 of the
24th day of November, 1938, at page 2427, which refers to
part of the area described in the Schedule hereto, and does
hereby declare the area described in the said Schedule to be
a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said
section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle
on any road, street, or other place to which the public have
access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit
of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.
SCHEDULE.
SITUATED within Hutt County—
All that area of Paekakariki Township and beach
settlement bounded to the east by the western boundary
of the Wellington–Auckland Main Trunk Railway Reserve;
bounded to the south by a line commencing at the junction
of the western boundary of the said railway reserve with
the north-eastern boundary of part Lot 2, D.P. 2184, being
part of Paekakariki Nos. 1E and 2A 1, Block III, Paekakariki Survey District; thence in a north-westerly direction
along the said boundary of the said part Lot 2 to the sea;
bounded to the west by the sea; and bounded to the north
by the Wainui Stream from the afore-mentioned railway
reserve to the sea; the boundaries of the whole area being
indicated by a green border on the plan marked T.T. 1630,
and deposited in the office of the Transport Department
at Wellington.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XIII, Ruatahuna
Survey District, for a Public Works Depot.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute
a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a Public
Works depot—and for the purposes of such public work
the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be
taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of
the land so required to be taken is deposited in the postoffice at Ruatahuna and is there open for inspection; and
that all persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have
any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said
public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same
in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the
first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken:
2 acres 0 roods 24 perches.
Being portion of Tahuaoroa Block.
Situated in Block XIII, Ruatahuna Survey District

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 106460,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public
work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited
in the post-office at Te Puke and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public
work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication
of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
