  1. Special meetings may be convened at Ohakune by the Secretary, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  2. Any five members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  3. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at the meeting.

  4. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be Chairman for such meeting.

  5. If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

  6. The Board may, with the approval of the Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation, make such rules as it deems necessary for the good conduct of the public frequenting the reserve, and may set apart areas for camping-grounds or other purposes, and may fix reasonable charges for the use thereof in accordance with a scale to be approved from time to time by the Minister.

  7. No tree, shrub, or plant of any kind which is not indigenous to the Ohakune district shall be planted in the reserve without the permission of the Minister.

  8. The Board shall prepare and submit at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

  9. The Board shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

OHAKUNE LAKES SCENIC RESERVE.—WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 24B, Block VIII, Makotuku Survey District: Area, 132 acres 1 rood 8 perches.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 136 acres 0 roods 21·8 perches, more or less, being Lots 1 and 2, of Lot 2, and other part of Lot 2 of Section 28, Block VIII, Makotuku Survey District.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/341D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 11th day of May, 1940.

PURSUANT to section sixty-five of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and to an Order in Council made thereunder on the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, His Excellency the Governor-General doth hereby appoint

Tautaitini

to be a member of the Island Council of Penrhyn during his pleasure as from the date hereof, in lieu of Josepha of Te Tautua (deceased).

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 11th day of May, 1940.
