Classification of Roads in Cook County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve of the Cook County Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in Cook County.

SCHEDULE.

COOK COUNTY.

ROADS classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 7 tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which when carrying a load has an axle weight of not more than 4½ tons on any one axle.

Main Highway.

Manutuke–Wairoa via Mangapoike Valley Main Highway No. 561.

County Road.

Manutuke–Wairoa via Mangapoike Valley Road (from its junction with the above-named main highway to the Reay Bridge).

Colours prescribed for Motor-vehicle Registration-plates for the Licensing Year 1940-41.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by Regulation 16 of the Motor-vehicles (Registration-plate) Regulations, 1934, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby declare that for the licensing year commencing on the 1st day of June, 1940, the distinguishing marks for registration-plates shall be embossed and coloured white on a ground coloured “venetian” red, No. 45, British Standards.

Colour and Sizes prescribed for Motor-vehicle Registration-plates attached to certain Motor-vehicles.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by Regulation 5A of the Motor-vehicles (Registration-plate) Regulations, 1934, as set out in Regulation 4 of the Motor-vehicles (Registration-plate) Regulations, 1934, Amendment No. 7, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the colours of gold with white edging for the letters and black for the ground and the size of 14 in. long and 5 in. high for both the registration-plates affixed to private motor-cars being the property of or regularly used by any High Commissioner in New Zealand for one of His Majesty’s Dominions, and the colours gold with white edging for the letters and black for the ground and the sizes 13½ in. long and 4½ in. high for the front plate and the same respective colours and the size 14 in. long and 3½ in. high for the rear plate for registration plates affixed to private motor-cars being the property of or regularly used by the High Commissioner in New Zealand for the United Kingdom.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Fish Retailing.

NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been received from Mrs. C. M. McGuire for a license to conduct the business of fish retailing at premises at 593 Mount Eden Road, Auckland.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 16th May, 1940. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same and (where applicable) include a statement showing the average monthly turnover of the business of the person making the representations, and the extent to which it is considered the granting of the application would affect such turnover.
