Notice of Meeting of Creditors.

NOTICE is hereby given that by resolution in its minute-book dated the 22nd April, 1940, the above company passed a resolution for a creditors' voluntary winding up, and that a meeting of the said company will be held pursuant to sections 234 and 300 of the Companies Act, 1933, at Wellington, on Wednesday, the 1st day of May, 1940, at 11 a.m., at the office of Mr. S. E. Brown, Bethune's Building, Featherston Street, Wellington, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company's affairs together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting creditors may nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company.

Creditors are requested to forward to the undersigned immediately a statement of their account as at 22nd April, 1940.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 18th day of April, 1940, cancelled the registry of Muritai Lodge, No. 113, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of New Zealand, Friendly Society (Register No. 146/160), held at Eastbourne, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Bay of Islands County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken : And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situate at Kawakawa, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.

PRIVATE BILL.

The Papawai and Kaikokirikiri Trusts Board Empowering Act, 1940.

NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended to be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand in the ensuing session by Arthur Lloyd Hansell, of Wellington, Clerk in Holy Orders, and Ernest Henry Anderson, of Day's Bay, near Wellington, Retired Merchant (hereinafter called "the promoters"), for leave to bring in a Private Bill, the short title of which is as above, to effect the following objects and purposes, viz:-

To empower the Papawai and Kaikokirikiri Trusts Board to award and pay scholarships tenable at certain schools and to apply moneys in farming operations ; also to validate payment of certain scholarships already awarded ; also to validate if necessary certain farming operations heretofore carried on by the Board ; also to capitalize certain accumulations of income and establish out of income reserves for certain specified purposes with powers of dedicating, selling, exchanging, leasing, and purchasing property.

Printed copies of the proposed Bill will be deposited in the office of the Examiner of Standing Orders at Parliament House, Wellington, not later than fourteen (14) days after the commencement of the session.
