Captain C. V. Thomason, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain, with seniority from 20th February, 1936, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 4th April, 1940.
2nd Lieutenant W. E. King, 2nd Cadet Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 1st February, 1940.
2nd Lieutenant W. T. Andrews, M.M., Retired List, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 10th February, 1937, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 5th April, 1940.
Charles Barratt Floyd to be 2nd Lieutenant (temporary) and is posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion. Dated 7th February, 1940.
THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT (CITY OF WELLINGTON’S OWN).
Lieutenant R. C. Tuck, 1st Cadet Battalion, is transferred to the Otago Regiment. Dated 8th April, 1940.
THE HAWKE'S BAY REGIMENT.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) N. Wilde, 1st Cadet Battalion, is confirmed.
Rupert James Drummond Sharpe to be 2nd Lieutenant (temporary) and is posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion. Dated 5th April, 1940.
THE TARANAKI REGIMENT.
Captain D. Malcolm, 1st Battalion, is granted the temporary rank of Major. Dated 13th February, 1940.
THE CANTERBURY REGIMENT.
Lieutenant W. L. Harrison, N.Z. Corps of Signals, is attached under the provisions of paragraph 141, Regulations for the N.Z. Military Forces, 1927, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 19th March, 1940.
THE OTAGO REGIMENT.
Lieutenant R. C. Tuck, from the Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington's Own), to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st August, 1938, and is posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion. Dated 8th April, 1940.
THE NEW ZEALAND SCOTTISH REGIMENT.
Major J. B. Mawson, M.C., V.D., is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while commanding the New Scottish Regiment. Dated 1st April, 1940.
RESERVE OF OFFICERS.
The Waikato Regiment.
Lieutenant C. N. Rabone resigns his commission on appointment to a commission in the Royal N.Z. Air Force. Dated 24th August, 1939.
The Hawke's Bay Regiment.
Lieutenant-Colonel A. J. M. Manson, M.C., E.D., is posted to the Retired List with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 29th February, 1940.

Appointment of Issuing Officer for the Purpose of issuing Licenses to take or kill Imported Game and Native Game in the Rotorua Acclimatization District.
PURSUANT to the provisions of Condition No. 3 included under the heading “Rotorua Acclimatization District” in the Warrant dated the 2nd day of April, 1940, made under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 29 of the 4th idem, at page 608 et seq., declaring open seasons for the taking or killing of imported game and/or native game in the acclimatization districts specified in such Warrant, I, Joseph William Allen Heenan, Under-Secretary of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint W. H. Tisdall, Limited, Auckland, to be an issuing officer for the purpose of issuing licenses to take or kill imported game and native game in the Rotorua Acclimatization District under and subject to the general conditions set forth in the said Warrant and the special conditions set forth under the heading “Rotorua Acclimatization District.”

Redefining a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area.
PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939, I, Walter Nash, Minister of Marketing, being satisfied that a sufficient majority of the producers in the area of land defined in the Schedule hereto are desirous that such area should be declared to be a pool area for the marketing of bobby calves, do hereby declare such area of land, defined as aforesaid, to be a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area for the purposes of the said regulations under the name set out in the said Schedule, and I do hereby further declare that this notice shall take effect on the 24th day of April, 1940.
SCHEDULE.
PIAKO FEDERATED BOBBY CALF MARKETING POOL AREA.
COMPRISING that area of land lying within the counties of Piako, Hauraki Plains, Waikato, and Matamata, and bounded by a line commencing at the point where the boundary-line between the Piako and Waikato Counties is met by the Auckland-Thames Railway; thence continuing along the said railway-line towards the Borough of Hamilton, in the Waikato County, to the north-western corner of Lot 5, Block XII, Komakorau Survey District; thence continuing along the western boundary, Lot 5; thence along the southern boundary of Lot 2, Komakorau Survey District, to again join the Piako County boundary where it meets the eastern boundary of Lot 2; thence continuing along the said boundary-line in a southerly, thence in an easterly direction to the point where it meets the western corner of Section 22, Block VIII, Cambridge Survey District, in the Matamata County; thence continuing along the southern boundary of Sections 22, 21, and B 1, Block VIII, Cambridge Survey District; thence along the eastern boundary of Sections B 1, 23, and B 4, Block VIII, Cambridge Survey District, to again meet the Piako County boundary at the point where it meets the eastern boundary of Block IV, Cambridge Survey District; thence continuing again along the said Piako
