A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as closed the portion of road in Campbelltown Hundred described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 1 acre 0 roods 16 perches.

Adjoining Section 33, Block III, Campbelltown Hundred (Southland R.D.). (S.O. R702.)

In the Southland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 99959, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 17th day of April, 1940.

Change of Name of Locality “Pembroke” to “Wanaka.”

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS settlers in the locality known as “Pembroke,” in the County of Lake, desire that the name of such locality should be changed to “Wanaka,” and it is considered expedient to alter the same:

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Designation of Districts Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the locality known as “Pembroke,” in the County of Lake, shall be and the same is hereby altered to “Wanaka,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such locality accordingly; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty, not being earlier than six months after the first publication thereof in the Gazette.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 28th day of February, 1940.

Crown Land set apart as a Provisional State Forest.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a provisional State forest.

SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT—NELSON FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

All that area in the Nelson Land District, Buller County, containing 393 acres, more or less, being part of Section 4, Block V, Kongahu Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north by Section 3, Block V aforesaid; towards the east by Boulder Creek; towards the south by Sections 10 and 6, Block V aforesaid; and towards the west by the other part of Section 4 aforesaid. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 101/6, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (Nelson S.O. plan 9085.)

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 15th day of April, 1940.
