CREDITORS’ VOLUNTARY WINDING UP.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of MONOWAI GOLD DEVELOPMENT, LIMITED.
Notice is hereby given that the following extraordinary resolution was passed by the members of Monowai Gold Development, Limited, on the 4th day of April, 1940:
“That the company, by reason of its liabilities, cannot continue its business, and that therefore it is advisable to wind up under the provisions applicable to a creditors' voluntary winding up.”

TE KUITI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Waterworks Improvement Loan, 1939.
At a meeting of the above Council held on the 30th day of March, 1940, the following resolution was passed:
“In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of thirty thousand pounds (£30,000), authorized to be raised by the Te Kuiti Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of altering, extending, and repairing the existing water-supply reticulation system, the said Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three and three-eights pence (3¾d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all the rateable property within the Borough of Te Kuiti, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty (30) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1924, the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and their respective amendments, notice is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for street purposes at The Terrace in the City of Wellington—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said City, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or the taking of such land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Wellington City Council addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.
SCHEDULE.
All that piece of land situate in the City of Wellington, containing approximately 0·43 perches, being portion of Lot 2 on Deposited Plan 4938, and being part Section 431, Town of Wellington, coloured yellow on the plan above mentioned.

THE AUCKLAND AND SUBURBAN DRAINAGE BOARD.
SPECIAL ORDER.
Loan No. 18, 1939, £5,000.
The Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board, in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and their respective amendments, and section 43 of the Local Legislation Act, 1939, and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, doth hereby resolve by special order:
(1) To raise a special loan of and to borrow the sum of £5,000 for the following purposes:
(a) To provide further funds for the expenses of investigating matters incidental to a proposed sewerage and stormwater drainage scheme for the Auckland metropolitan district

(b) To provide funds for the carrying out of watercourse-improvement works

(c) To repay an advance made to the Board by the Department of Labour

(2) That the said special loan of £5,000 be known as Loan No. 18, 1939.
(3) That the rate of interest payable in respect of the said special loan shall be £4 5s. per centum per annum.
(4) That the said special loan, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by thirty equal aggregate half-yearly instalments of £227 2s. 1d., the first instalment to be paid at the expiration of six months from the date on which the said special loan is raised.
(5) That the said special loan and the interest thereon shall be secured upon the Board’s General Fund and upon all contributions payable to it by and all rates leviable by the local authorities thereof to secure the payment of such contributions upon the City of Auckland (portion) and the Suburban Boroughs of Mount Eden, Mount Albert, Newmarket, and One Tree Hill (portion), and the Road District of Mount Roskill (portion).
The foregoing special order was made by way of a special resolution passed at a special meeting of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board convened by requisition of the Chairman dated the 1st day of March, 1940, and held on the 6th day of March, 1940. It was publicly notified in the New Zealand Herald on the 11th and 25th days of March, 1940, and the Auckland Star on the 18th day of March, 1940, and the 1st day of April, 1940. It was confirmed at a special meeting of the Board convened by resolution of the Board on the 6th day of March, 1940, and held on the 3rd day of April, 1940.
The common seal of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board was hereto affixed this 3rd day of April, 1940, in the presence of—

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Te Kauwhata Drainage Loan, 1940.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Waikato County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £900, authorized to be raised by the Waikato County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of constructing drainage works within the Town District of Te Kauwhata, the Waikato County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4d. in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Town District of Te Kauwhata; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 14th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
