HUME (COBB RIVER) ELECTRIC POWER COMPANY,
LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the Hume (Cobb River) Electric Power Company, Limited, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, 17th April, 1940, at which a resolution for voluntary winding up is to be proposed; and that a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, at noon, on Wednesday, 17th April, 1940, at Y.M.C.A. Concert Hall, Cambridge Terrace, Christchurch, at which meeting the full statement of the position of the company's affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amounts of their claims will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company, and in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.

RESOLUTION.
THE following Regulations were laid before the members of the Wanganui Trotting Club at a meeting held on the 14th day of March, 1940, at Wanganui, with a recommendation by the Chairman of such club, Dr. G. J. Adams, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor-General in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Dr. G. J. Adams, the Chairman of such club, and the meeting moved, and Mr. A. Muller seconded, and it was resolved that such Regulations should be adopted and that the Chairman and Secretary be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.
The following are the Regulations referred to:--
WANGANUI TROTTING CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Wanganui Trotting Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as "the said club") doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the Waikato Trotting Club's course situated in the district of Waikato and known as the Waikato Trotting Racecourse while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

These regulations shall come into force on the date of the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.

In these regulations the words "bookmaker," "racing club," and "race meeting" shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:-
(a) Bookmakers.
(b) Bookmakers' clerks, bookmakers' assistants, and bookmakers' agents.
(c) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Association.
(d) Common prostitutes and persons who habitually consort with thieves or persons who have no lawful visible means of support.
(e) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of house-breaking or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering or possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act, 1908, and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues, and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted under the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908.
Provided always that the Executive Committee appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference, upon being satisfied by evidence as to character and otherwise that any person who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of this regulation, should have relief from the effect thereof, may grant exemption to any such person, and may at any time revoke any such exemption without notice to such person, and without assigning any reason for such revocation.
The foregoing regulations of the Wanganui Trotting Club were made and passed by such club on the 14th day of March, 1940, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

CHANGE OF SURNAME.
I, ALBERT EDWARD HOGG, of Auckland, Packer, heretofore called and known by the name of ALBERT EDWARD JONES, hereby give public notice that by a deed-poll dated the 16th day of February, 1940, duly enrolled in the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Auckland Registry, on the 20th day of March, 1940, I formally renounced the said surname of JONES and declared that I had for myself and my wife and my children and remoter issue assumed and intended thenceforth to use the surname of HOGG instead of JONES and so as to be at all times thereafter known by the name of HOGG exclusively.

(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for filing), subscription 30s. per annum in advance.
(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram, 25s.
(3) Serially as issued and annual bound volume, as in (1) and (2) above, on combined subscription basis, 42s. per annum in advance.
(4) Separate regulations as issued.
(5) Loose-leaf binder for filing serial issues, 6s. 6d.
