Revoking a Warrant Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality and Declaring an Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Minister of Transport does hereby revoke that Warrant dated the 1st day of August, 1939, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 59 of the 3rd day of August, 1939, at page 2117, which refers to the area described in the Schedule hereto and does hereby declare the area described in the said Schedule to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE.

SITUATED within Opotiki County—

All that area adjacent to Opotiki, consisting of those portions of the Gisborne–Whakatane via Motu Main Highway and Hospital Road, commencing at the western boundary of Opotiki Borough, as now constituted, proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction and terminating at a point 3 chains measured along Hospital Road in a south-westerly direction from the main entrance to the Opotiki Public Hospital, a distance of approximately 66 chains.

Dated at Wellington, this 19th day of March, 1940.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block V, Waiawa Survey District, for a Native School.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a Native school—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Opotiki and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken :
9 acres 3 roods 27 perches.

Being portion of Opape 3x Section 1b No. 2.

Situated in Block V, Waiawa Survey District (Gisborne R.D.). (S.O. 4088.)

In the Gisborne Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 106285, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

As witness my hand at Wellington, this 20th day of March, 1940.
