Kairanga County.—Block II, Kairanga Survey District.—
Olver Settlement.
SECTION 1s : Area, 36 acres 0 roods 31·7 perches. Capital
value, £1,385; half-yearly rent, £34 12s. 6d.
Capital value includes the sum of £305 for Crown's
improvements, comprising 61 chains internal fencing, 13
chains road fencing, 38 chains boundary fencing, 36 acres
cleared and stumped, 8 acres surface sown, 26 acres ploughed
and grassed, and water-supply.
Weighted with £433 15s. for improvements, comprising
dwelling, cowbyre, plantation, roads, bridges and culvert,
drains, and part fencing. This sum is payable in cash, or,
after payment of a deposit of £83 15s., the balance may be
repaid over a period of twenty years at 5 per cent., the half-
yearly instalments of principal and interest being £13 18s. 10d.
This section is situated on Milson Line five miles from
Feilding Railway-station and Saleyards, a quarter of a mile
from the Te Arakura School, and eight miles from Awahuri
Dairy Factory, access being by metalled road. The soil,
watered by windmill and well, is heavy clay loam resting
on clay (10 acres resting on metal and clay with some iron-
stone), and is all flat and ploughable and suitable for dairying.
The property which is somewhat neglected, the fencing and
building being in need of repair, is barely an economic unit
but would be suitable for an adjoining owner.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property
is open for selection on optional tenures under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o'clock
p.m. on Monday, 11th March, 1940.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday,
13th March, 1940, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant
is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land
Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when
examined documentary evidence of their financial position,
such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from
managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms,
or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial
assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should
state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply
guarantees of their own financial position.

Weighted with £70 8s. (payable in cash) for improvements,
comprising old five-roomed dwelling, two huts, and fencing.
This property is situated one mile from Glenomaru Post-
office and Railway-station, two miles from Glenomaru School,
eight miles from Owaka Saleyards and is a quarter of a mile
off Catlins Main Highway. The soil is a sharp loam on rock
bottom. The section is undulating and part back-lying,
with about 10 acres milled bush and second growth ; balance
old pasture.
