Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Adjutant, The Wellington East Coast Mounted Rifles, and Assistant Area Officer, No. 7 Area, Gisborne, is appointed Area Officer, No. 8 Area, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain while so employed. Dated 28th January, 1940.

COMMAND.

Captain (temporary) J. D. Swan, N.Z. Army Service Corps, is appointed to command the 1st Composite Company, temporarily. Dated 15th January, 1940.

REGIMENT OF ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Captain I. R. Withell, B.Sc., to be Major. Dated 10th February, 1940.

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.

Colonel S. D. Mason, C.B.E., E.D., to be Lieutenant-Colonel, and is appointed Camp Commandant, Burnham Military Camp. Dated 12th January, 1940.

Major H. G. Livingstone, V.D., relinquishes the appointment of Area Staff Officer, No. 10 Area, Christchurch, and is placed on leave without pay as from and including 8th February, 1940.

George Whitham (late Captain, British Army), to be Captain, and is appointed Assistant Area Officer, No. 5 Area, and Adjutant, 2nd Field Ambulance, Wellington. Dated 18th January, 1940.

Captain R. J. Brammall relinquishes his appointment in the Adjutant-General’s Branch Army Headquarters, Wellington, on appointment to the Royal N.Z. Air Force. Dated 6th February, 1940.

Lieutenant (temporary Captain) L. A. Lincoln relinquishes his appointment in the N.Z. Temporary Staff on appointment to the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 30th January, 1940.

Lieutenant M. P. W. Blathwayt, Reserve of Officers, The Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry, to be Lieutenant, and is attached to the Adjutant-General’s Branch, Army Headquarters, Wellington. Dated 23rd January, 1940.

QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Walter Herbert Fowler to be 2nd Lieutenant (temporary). Dated 5th February, 1940.

Captain H. A. McAulay, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain, with seniority from 3rd September, 1936. Dated 7th February, 1940.
