Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License
under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Retail Sale of Motor-spirit.
NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been
received from Hislop and Gibson, Limited, for
permission to move two petrol pumps from premises at
384 Cumberland Street, to a new position in premises at
14–20 Stafford Street, Dunedin, and to install two additional
petrol pumps so as to form a drive-through inside the building.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by
the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application,
and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the
undersigned not later than the 14th March, 1940. All
representations must set out clearly the grounds for same
and include a statement showing the gallonage throughput
of petrol sold and the nature of the business conducted by
the person making the representations.

received from A. Peckston, Auckland, on behalf of
Colpex Limited (a company to be formed), for a license to
engage in the industry of “the manufacture of paper-pulp
or paper products” in respect to the manufacture of hand-
made papers only, sized and unsized.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by
the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application
and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the
undersigned not later than the 14th March, 1940.

the industry of “the manufacture for sale of bituminous
roofing material” (as defined in the Industry Licensing
(Bituminous Roofing Material Manufacture) Notice 1939):
- Ormonoid Roofing and Asphalts, Ltd., Sydney.
- M. C. Stapleton and Co., Ltd., Auckland.
- Bituminous Roofing Products, Ltd., Christchurch.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by
the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications
and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the
undersigned not later than the 12th March, 1940.

PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 4 of the Native
Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native
Affairs hereby varies the notice dated the 13th day of January,
1932, and published in Gazette No. 6 of the 21st day of the
same month at page 115, declaring the Maracnui (part) and
other blocks to be subject to section 522 of the Native Land
Act, 1931 (now Part I of the Native Land Amendment
Act, 1936), by excluding therefrom the Native land described
in the Schedule hereto.

ALL that area of Native land in the Waiariki Native Land
Court District situate in Block V, Te Kaha Survey District,
and being the severed portion containing 2 roods 28 perches,
more or less, of the Te Kaha No. 38 Block.

Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby declares

subject to Part I of the said Act and to be included in the
Tuparoa Development Scheme.

Court District situate in Block XVI, Mangaoporo Survey
District, and Block XIII, Waiapu Survey District, and

Air Towed-target Range established.
Position: Mussel Point. Lat., 41° 42′·9 S.; long., 174°
14′·2 E. (approx.). Chart No. 695.
Details: The area enclosed by a line extending 5 miles
043° from Mussel Point, thence 10 miles 340°, thence 228°
to White Bluff has been established as an air towed-target
range. Mariners and other persons are warned not to enter
the area as machine-gun firing may take place at any time.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Village Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection
on Renewable Lease.
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 27th February, 1940.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned properties
are open for selection on renewable lease under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland,
up to 4 o’clock p.m., on Friday, 12th April, 1940.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, on Wednesday, 17th April, 1940, at 10.30 o’clock
a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be
examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner
of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicants
are required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot
deposits comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period
rent, and lease fee.
