Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of heavy trade-motors, shall not apply to Palmer Leahy, of Hamilton.

Approval of Testing Officer under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940.
IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve, until further notice, of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a Testing Officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Rotorua) Order 1940, No. 3.
PURSUANT to the Oil Fuel Retail Hours Emergency Regulations 1940, and pursuant to a requisition in writing received in that behalf, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct as follows:—

This Order may be cited as the Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Rotorua) Order 1940, No. 3.

This Order shall come into force on the day of the gazetting hereof and shall remain in force until the 30th day of April, 1941.

This Order shall apply to all establishments engaged in the sale by retail of oil fuel and situate within six miles of the post-office in the Borough of Rotorua.

On and after the coming into force of this Order all such establishments except as hereinafter provided shall on every Friday be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 8 a.m. till 9 p.m. and closed at all other times on every Friday and on every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. and closed at all other times on the said respective days.

This Order shall not apply to the period of twenty-one consecutive days commencing on and including the Monday immediately preceding Christmas Day, or to the period of fourteen consecutive days commencing on and including the Monday immediately preceding Good Friday, or to Anniversary Day or to the Saturday immediately preceding Anniversary Day when such day is observed on a Monday.

In every successive week, except as provided in clause 5 hereof, commencing upon the coming into force of this Order two of the establishments hereinafter named shall in the weekly rotation hereinafter set out remain open on every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday till 9 p.m. in lieu of 6 p.m.

First week .. Rotorua Rental Cars (Proprietor: A. J. Andrews). Cadman’s Parking Station, Limited.
Second week .. Jones Brothers Garage, Limited. Rotorua Tyre and Rubber Company (Proprietor: J. L. Witherow).
Third week .. Thermal Garage (Proprietor: R. C. Avery). Wells Arawa Service Station (Proprietor: J. S. Wells).
Fourth week .. Hale Nicholls, Limited. Duffy’s Service Station (Proprietor: H. F. Preston).
Fifth week .. The Rotorua De Luxe Service Station, Limited. Waiwera Garage (Proprietor: C. J. C. Grant).
Sixth week .. J. C. Bates and Son, Limited. Geyser Service Station (Proprietor: J. B. Rassmussen).
Seventh week.. Rotorua Motor Transport Company, Limited. Fortune and Carruthers, Limited.
- The establishments hereinafter named shall on every Friday be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 8.30 a.m. till 8.30 p.m., on every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8.30 a.m. till 5.30 p.m. and on every Saturday from 8.30 a.m. till 1 p.m., in lieu of the times hereinbefore set out.

Nothing in this Order shall affect the opening of the establishment of Mr. S. J. Blackmore at the Rotorua Aerodrome for the supply of oil fuel to aircraft.

Nothing in this Order shall affect the supplying to any person on the written authority of an officer of Police of oil fuel that may be urgently required at any time while all of the above-mentioned establishments are closed in pursuance of this Order.
