NOTICE OF MEETING OF CREDITORS.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of LIBERTY MOTORS CORPORATION, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of Liberty Motors Corporation, Limited, will be held on Friday, the 20th day of December, 1940, at which a resolution for voluntary winding up is to be proposed, and that a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held, pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, at 10 National Bank Buildings, Fort Street, Auckland, on Friday, the 20th day of December, 1940, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company, and in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.

NOTICE OF VOLUNTARY WINDING-UP RESOLUTION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary meeting of the above-named company, duly convened and held on the 29th day of November, 1940, the following special resolutions were passed :-

  1. That it be and is hereby resolved that the company be wound up voluntarily.

  2. That Mr. E. J. WOOLF, of Christchurch, be appointed liquidator for the purpose of winding up the company’s affairs.

In the Supreme Court of New Zealand, [No. Petition 3/90. Otago and Southland District, Dunedin Registry.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of S. R. BURNS AND COMPANY, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was, on the 28th day of November, 1940, presented to the said Court by Avon Motors, Limited, Motor Engineers and Garage-proprietors, but now in liquidation, whose registered office is at the Old Provincial Council Chambers, Durham Street, Christchurch, and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at the Supreme Court House at Dunedin on the 13th day of December, 1940, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person, or by his counsel, for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

I, HERBERT GEORGE WINTER, formerly of Hamilton in New Zealand, but now of Sydney in New South Wales in the Commonwealth of Australia, heretofore called and known by the name of HERBERT GEORGE WINTER, hereby give notice that on the 1st day of October, 1940, I renounced and abandoned the use of my said name of HERBERT GEORGE WINTER and assumed in lieu thereof the name of JACK WINTER, and further, that such change of name is evidenced by a deed-poll dated the 29th day of October, 1940, duly executed by me and attested and enrolled in the Supreme Court at Hamilton, under No. 2347.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Wellington City Paving and Surface Sealing Loan, 1927, Renewal Loan, 1941.

THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on Monday, the 2nd December, 1940 :-

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, and of all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows :-

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a special loan of sixty-one thousand nine hundred pounds (£61,900) to be known as the Wellington City Paving and Surface Sealing Loan, 1927, Renewal Loan, 1941, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying to the extent that sinking funds are insufficient the Wellington City Paving and Surface Sealing Loan, 1927, of one hundred and sixty-one thousand pounds (£161,000) which matures in London on the 1st day of March, 1941, the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one hundred and sixty-two eight-hundredths of a penny (162/800d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of five (5) years from the 1st day of March, 1941, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
