ELLERSLIE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the
Ellerslie Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a loan of £5,500, authorized to be raised
by the Ellerslie Borough Council under the above-
mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing drainage
and sewerage works within the Ellerslie Borough District,
the said Ellerslie Borough Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of one penny in the pound upon the
rateable value, on the basis of the unimproved value,
of all rateable property in the Ellerslie Borough District ;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such special loan and be
payable yearly on the first day of April in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The foregoing resolution was passed at a duly constituted
meeting of the Council held in the Council Chambers, Ellerslie,
on the 5th day of November, 1940.

WAIKOHU COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

Rural Housing Loan, 1940.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the
Waikohu County Council hereby resolves as follows —

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a loan of £4,000, authorized to be
raised by the Waikohu County Council under the above-
named Act, for rural housing, the said Waikohu County
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-
twentieth of a penny (1/20d.) in the pound upon the
rateable value of all property of the rural housing loan
area comprising the whole of the County of Waikohu ;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan and be payable
on the first day of July in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five
years or until the loan is fully paid off.

And it is further resolved that the interest and the
charges on the said loan shall be paid out of the general
fund.”

THE HOROWHENUA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,
the Horowhenua Electric-power Board hereby resolves as
follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a supplementary loan of £26,000,
authorized to be raised by the Horowhenua Electric-
power Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the
purpose of completing the undertaking in respect of
which a loan of £260,000 has already been raised for the
purpose of providing for the distribution of electrical
energy throughout the Horowhenua Electric-power
District by reticulating the said district and generally
carrying out such works as are authorized by the
Electric-Power Boards Act, 1918, and its amendments,
to acquire such land or property necessary for the
undertaking and to render temporary financial assistance
to consumers, as provided in the said Act, the said the
Horowhenua Electric-power Board hereby makes and
levies a special rate of one-twelfth of a penny in the
pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the
capital value) of all rateable property of the Horowhenua
Electric-power District comprising the whole of the
said district; and that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such
supplementary loan and be payable yearly on the first
day of May in each and every year during the currency
of such supplementary loan, being a period of twenty-
five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a
resolution passed by the Horowhenua Electric-power Board
on the 26th day of November, 1940, and appearing in the
minute-book of the said Board.

NOTICE is hereby given that I, the undersigned, IVAN
GEORGE GODDARD, of Auckland, in the Provincial
District of Auckland and Dominion of New Zealand, Tram
Conductor (heretofore or sometime known as IVAN GEORGE
PEARSON), being a British subject, have by deed-poll dated
the lst day of August, 1940, and enrolled in the Supreme
Court Office at Auckland, renounced and abandoned my
surname of PEARSON and assigned and adopted the surname
of GODDARD for all purposes whatsoever.
